The Winds

The Winds
The horizontal movement of air caused by a difference in pressure between two places
Air always moves from HIGH pressure to LOW pressure
The greater the difference in pressure (pressure gradient) the faster the wind.
Local Winds
Winds over a small area that
change direction often
Seasonal Winds
Winds
caused by temperature
differences
between
land and sea
Ex: Monsoons in India
Global Winds
Winds that occur over a LARGE
area and move in a constant
direction
