On Wednesday the
group packed backpacks and then left to visit
some shut-ins. First was Ms Mary Karnes.
We sang several songs and had a prayer.
Sue Duke was pleased for us to come.
Danny Gossett was pleased also.
Sunday, 23 of us went to Pond Church of
Christ for a youth rally. Lonnie Jones was
the speaker and had very good lessons. The
food was delicious. So many things are
coming up - The progressive dinner, CYC,
EU, and Dirty Christmas. Hope you come to
everything!!!
Congratulations to Frank and
Linda Hawkins, grandparents, on the birth
of their granddaughter, Sydney Meredith,
on October 26. Parents are Matt and Kim
Hawkins with big brother Maverick.

Privilege of Preaching. The elders here have permitted me to
preach two gospel meetings this year. One was in Murfreesboro
last January. The more recent one was in Maryville, TN, for the
Nelson’s Chapel Church of Christ. They supported me
financially when I was a student at the East TN School of
Preaching in the late 1970’s. On the last night of the gospel
meeting, I preached on heaven. After the service, a twelve year
old boy thanked me for the sermon. “I have Tourette’s
Syndrome. When I get to Heaven, will I still have Tourette’s
Syndrome?” Tourette’s is a neurological disorder that causes
involuntary muscle twitches or sounds. I said, “No. You will
not have Tourette’s because God will give you a perfect body.”
He smiled and said, “That will be very good!”
A Generous Church. It is wonderful how generous you are
with your time, talents, and treasure. Recently you contributed
more than $11,000 for Camp Leatherwood to help rebuild
Mosley Hall that burned in February. Thank you for your love
for the Lord and for your love for children.
Congregational Meal & Meeting. On December 11th after
morning services, the eldership would like for the church to
have a family meal together. Afterward, the elders wish to have
a family meeting where the budget, plans and calendar in 2017
will be discussed.
Holiday Schedule. November 20, Sunday, 5:00pm devo at
White Bluff; 6:00pm 22nd annual Thanks Singing service at
Walnut Street Church of Christ; November 23, Wednesday,
5:30pm, White Bluff Community Thanksgiving Meal followed
by 7:00pm devotional - no Bible classes will meet;
December 25, Sunday services at 8:00am and 10:00am with
Roger Michael preaching - no Bible classes and no
evening service.
