Got milk? Vote on your favorite health slogan
Health information technology (IT) is all about making our health care
system better, easier, safer.
You and I know this. But talking about data and electronic health records makes
some people's eyes gloss over. That's why we need your help.
National Partnership supporters have a special opportunity to help
determine the direction of the "Blue Button” campaign — run by the Office of
the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) within the U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services — by voting on a new slogan.
Got Milk? The Happiest Place on Earth. Just do it! Memorable slogans make a
difference, which is why we need your help. Vote on your favorite health slogan
today!
What’s the “Blue Button” campaign? Perhaps you’ve
started to notice (or will soon notice) that an increasing
number of health providers are adding a blue (download)
button to their websites. This gives patients and caregivers
a powerful and effective way to safely and securely access
their health records online.
Why is this so important? Easy, online access to health
records puts vital medical information at your fingertips and helps patients and
caregivers take control of and better manage their care, for example, by getting
information about current medications, children’s vaccination history or recent
surgical procedures.
And we need to do our part by raising awareness so more people know this
information is available and start using the helpful “blue button” tool. That’s where
you come in.
You can help by voting on the tagline for this important initiative — by picking the
slogan or phrase that cuts to the chase, and explains, in simple terms, why
everyone should care about health IT and have access to their health records.
Selecting a tagline is not as easy as it sounds, which is why we'd love to
hear your thoughts. Click here to vote on one of four existing campaign
taglines — or write-in your own slogan.
At the National Partnership, we know that health IT has the potential to help save
lives. That's why we urge you to join us in helping ONC select the best possible
slogan to raise awareness for its "Blue Button Campaign."
And we'll update you in a few days with the verdict on the winning tagline.
Thanks for all that you do!
Sincerely,
Debra Ness
