David Scott Hanson Provided by Bailey-Kent Funeral Homes Posted by: Wanda (Stevens) Smith Mon June 17, 2013 I just want you to know that I am praying for all the family. I'm glad God allowed you to be there when he died. Your dad was a great guy and will be missed! Posted by: Nathan and Amy Moser Mon June 17, 2013 Dear Hanson family, We want you to know that we are praying for you at this time. Dave was such a great man, always had love for everyone and was full of life. I am sitting here remembering countless jokes and good times we had when in Ecuador. The world, my world, was better because of him. Now, heaven is enriched. May his memory be blessed forever and may the Lord Jesus Christ embrace you during this difficult time. We love you all dearly, Nathan and Amy Moser Posted by: Karen Martin Mon June 17, 2013 Hello Charlotte and family, Charlotte, I have been contemplating Psalm 1 recently and I think of David as a tree planted by a stream of water, a stream such as Carl and I live by here in Vermont where the trees grow tall and line the stream in a majestic way with strong roots that go down deep. That to me is a picture of David; those roots and nourishment in his love of His God produces my memories of David, a man whose smile was wide, humor was abundant, energy boundless, and love for his God, his family and the people of Ecuador extraordinary. Praying for you, Karen and Carl Posted by: Linda (Tait) Aiton Mon June 17, 2013 Charlotte and Family I was so sorry to hear of David's passing. We were all looking so forward to your visit to new Brunswick this month and I am sure he was too. You have so many memories of your times spent together, so enjoy them. David had a wonderful life and had a wonderful family. I enjoyed our letters at Christmastime, all the pictures he was so proud to show of all his children and grandchildren and his invites to me to visit. Linda (Tait) Aiton, David's cousin Posted by: Linda Arens Mon June 17, 2013 Charlotte and family, You are in our thoughts and prayers. May you sense God's comfort in a special way at this time. With much love, page 1 / 8 David Scott Hanson Provided by Bailey-Kent Funeral Homes Lin and Martha Posted by: Evangeline Hanson Pugh Mon June 17, 2013 Hi Folks: I am so very sorry to learn of this untimely death. I am shocked and concerned for all of you. I am deeply saddened and was so looking forward to seeing David during his intended visit to NB. I at least got a chance to talk to him one last time and tell him I loved him and it was wonderful to hear his voice that one last time. It is comforting to know that it is well with his soul and he is enjoying a wonderful end to his earthly life. We all loved him here and are sorry we didn't have that last visit. Sincerely and with love from Canada The entire Hanson family Mildred, Evangeline, Betty, Margo, Howard, Francis and James. We enjoyed some fun times together. God bless you all. Posted by: Bob and Karen Struwe Mon June 17, 2013 It was an honor to have been able to work with Dave in Ecuador. His spirit and enthusiasm were contagious. We'll look forward to meeting with him again! Posted by: Brenda Hanson Mon June 17, 2013 So very sorry and surprised to hear of David's death. We were looking forward to his visit here in New Brunswick....Praying for all his family... Posted by: Luella Tanya knowles Mon June 17, 2013 David was my only brother, and I loved him dearly! He and his wife Charlotte were to come here in Maine, and we were going to Canada to see family members, cousins, etc. Then we would come back to Maine and stay at our home for a few weeks. We regret that the visit was not possible. David and Charlotte were devoted missionaries in Equador as well as here in the USA. Their testimonies have always been to tell others about Jesus' love for them and how they might ask Jesus Christ to be Lod over their lives! We thank God that David is already rejoicing in Heaven where he will have many rewards! Posted by: Luella T. Knowles and Ralph Knowles Sr. Tue June 18, 2013 We will miss our brother, David, as he was always loved and admired for his outstanding love and testimony for Jesus Christ. His life was spent spreading the Good News of salvation to all people. He will hear WELL DONE in Heaven. God bless all of his children and especially his wife Charlotte, a lovely lady who is also a real witness for The Lord Jesus. Love, Luella T. Knowles Posted by: Pamela Storr Tue June 18, 2013 I join with so many others who knew David in offering our deepest sympathy on his passing. Although it is little consolation at this sad time, it should be of some satisfaction to know that in his passing you can celebrate the end of a Howard and Brenda Hanson page 2 / 8 David Scott Hanson Provided by Bailey-Kent Funeral Homes very long and productive life. A life that he enjoyed and shared with everyone. The tales of his travels, his family and his faith are some of his attributes that we will remember for a very long time. I believe that the measure of a life well-lived is not in how much money one has or what possessions they have accumulated, but rather through the lives they touched and the sorrow they leave behind. If the outpouring of sympathy on his loss is any indication, and it most certainly is, you can proudly and confidently say that his indeed was a life well-lived. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that his loss is felt by all who knew and loved him. It seems only fitting that I should sign my name as follows: Your cousin, Pamela Romans 8:28 Posted by: Mike & Marnetta Roth Tue June 18, 2013 Dear Charlotte, What wonderful and fun memories we have of Dave. Just remember God is your Pastor and Refuge during these very difficult times. Much love Anita Posted by: Ilene Snyder Mon November 18, 2013 Charlotte and family, I just learned of David's passing today from reading the Alumni Update from the LBC periodical. I knew Dave from LBC. I remember him bringing little Daniel to class with him. Daniel would sleep during the lectures, wrapped up in his blanket. I was always a little bit envious of him because I had to stay awake and take notes! One day I was studying in the Library--this was the very old library that had been a white building from the Esbenshade property. Dave came in and accidentally dropped whatever it was that he was carrying. Things noisily spilled all over the floor, interrupting the serious silence of the library. All eyes turned to Dave! He laughed out loud with a facial expression of "Oops!" Of course, everyone else had to laugh, too! I always admired and respected David--and also you, Charlotte. I remember Dave mentioned that there were some people not willing to commit to missionary support for your family because you had "too many children" (according to them) and they seemed to doubt that God would call someone with five children to the mission field. But He must have, because you did page 7 / 8 David Scott Hanson Provided by Bailey-Kent Funeral Homes make it to Ecuador! I also graduated from LBC in ''77 and went on to serve with TEAM in Irian Jaya. I always felt a comradeship with Dave and you because we were all preparing for the mission field at the same time. May God continue to comfort and encourage you as you adjust to life without the physical presence of Dave. Oh, but you must have such wonderful memories! May you find much joy in the memories of your life with David. Posted by: W.
