Disciplinary Committee ordered a member be excluded*
On 22 May 2017 the Disciplinary Committee of ACCA (the Association of Chartered
Certified Accountants) found proved the following allegations against Mr Antony
Jonathan Dawson of Hereford, United Kingdom:
Allegation 1:
It is alleged that Antony Dawson breached Global Practising Regulations (as
applicable in 2015-2017) by virtue of not holding a valid practising certificate
with regards any or all of the following:
(a) Between 23 August 2016 to 31 March 2017, Mr Antony Dawson carried
out public practice contrary to Paragraph 3(1)(a) of the Global Practice
Regulations (as applicable in 2015-2017);
(b) Between 11 May 2015 and 1 May 2016 Mr Antony Dawson held rights,
which in effect put him in the position of a principal, namely 100 %
ownership, in David H Davies & Co which carried out public practice
contrary to Paragraph 3(2)(b) of the Global Practice Regulations (as
applicable in 2015-2017);
(c) By reason of his conduct in respect of any or all of the matters set out at
1(a) to 1(b) above, Antony Dawson is:
(i) Guilty of misconduct pursuant to bye-law 8(a)(i);

Allegation 2:
(a) Contrary to Paragraph 3(1) of the Complaints and Disciplinary
Regulations 2014, Antony Dawson has failed to co-operate fully with the
investigation of a complaint in that he failed to respond to any or all of
ACCA’s correspondence dated:
i)
24 August 2016;
ii)
25 August 2016;
iii) 16 September 2016;
iv) 7 October 2016;
v)
8 November 2016
(b) By reason of his conduct at 2(a) above, Antony Dawson is:
(i) Guilty of misconduct pursuant to bye-law 8(a)(i);
The Disciplinary Committee ordered that Mr Dawson be excluded from membership with
immediate effect and that any application for readmission to membership be referred to
the Admissions and Licensing Committee. In addition the Committee ordered that Mr
Dawson pay a fine in the sum of £1000.00. The Committee further ordered that Mr
Dawson pay costs to ACCA in the sum of £7,164.58. Please note that this may be the
subject of an appeal.

ACCA’s regulations require ACCA to publish the Committee’s findings and orders by way
of a news release, as soon as practicable.
* An order made by the Disciplinary Committee shall take effect from the date of expiry
of the Appeal Period referred to in the Appeal Regulations unless the Committee directs
that the order should have immediate effect.
