Please indicate if your unit is bringing a trailer ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Troop Equipment All units are responsible to provide the following equipment: Tents Camping gear Cooking and eating gear Trash bags Food (if choosing Option 1) Refrigeration Calumet is able to provide limited refrigeration for units that choose Option 1 Check In Upon arrival, Unit Leader must register all participants. 1 Calumet International Camporee Camp Information FRIDAY HOT DOG SPECIAL What: 2 all meat HOT DOGS, 1 bag of CHIPS and 1 DRINK When: Friday 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Where: Honeywell Dining Hall How Much: just $3.00 How To: Purchase tickets when the unit is registered Calumet Meal Plan Option 2 Calumet offers units the opportunity to come to camp without going to the grocery store. The meal plan includes the following meals: Saturday Breakfast Lunch Dinner Snack Sunday Breakfast CAMP INFORMATION AND RESTRICTIONS Alcohol Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on camp properties. Tobacco All tobacco products are prohibited on camp properties. Portable Communication NO CB radios, walkie-talkies, or other radios are allowed in camp. Timber and Wood Elk Lick has an abundance of “down” timber. DO NOT cut live trees or standing timber. State regulations prohibit the transportation of Liquid Fuels Calumet requires that all liquid fuels are stored in the Tribal Chief camp site. All refueling will be done at a designated area determined by the Tribal Chief. Units are prohibited from storing fuel in the troop site. Dress Code All participants are expected to comply with BSA policy and standards of good taste. T-shirts should not have offensive or vulgar printing. Bathing suits must be appropriate, for males (shorts, full coverage), females (one piece full coverage, no 2 piece suits). Patch Traders Calumet welcomes all Scouts and Scouters. If you are coming just to trade you must register with Calumet. If you are registered at Calumet with a unit, you have met this policy. firewood to Elk Lick Scout Reserve. Firewood will be available for purchase. 2 Calumet International Camporee Program Theme—Medieval World Knights and Squires Patrol and individual challenges and games shall be scheduled for all of Saturday. Events will be inspired by knights, castles, chivalry, and days of old. Be Prepared My lords and ladies: the Kingdom of Elk Lick has a varied terrain. As such, please allow thyself to become wet from the flowing water or encrusted in earthen muck. Your unit dress attire will not be appropriate for your enjoyment of the day! Individual Games Individual events shall be demonstrations of the knight’s skills. If one has not been knighted, then squires may seek recognition from the throne through mastery of the skills passed on by Lord Baden Powell of Gilwell. Patrol Contests The Duke of Nippert is challenging all Patrols of knights and squires from all shires and parishes to participate in contests throughout the day! You will be presented with opportunities to show your mettle in amusing and jovial contests. Please have your patrol ready to demonstrate the following skills: The JOUST STORMING THE CASTLE Climbing the BASTILLE Defeating the BLACK NIGHT SLAYING THE DRAGON Caring for your MOUNT Don’t forget your SHRUBBERY for the Knights who say NI! Iron Scout Triathlon Calumet is pleased to offer the Iron Scout Triathlon. This event is open to Calumet Scouts and Scouters over 14 years of age. Awards are given in several divisions. As all other Triathlon events, this is a fitness based event. Canadian Roundhouse One of the many traditions of Calumet has been the Canadian Roundhouse. An event hosted by Gilwellians, this event roots itself in many of Scouting’s finest traditions. 3 Calumet International Camporee Program Highlights and Features Theme—Medieval World Exhibits, Demonstrations and Try-its In 2012 Calumet has assembled the finest exhibits in the known world. The Camp Chief explores the known world to find some of the most unique memorabilia for your bid. There is something for everyone, so bring your spirit and your wallet! Trading Post The Calumet Trading Post will be stocked for all of your needs and wants. Hours will be posted on the Trading Post. Calumet will award the Overall Champion to the unit which has the most participation and the best scores.
