Program
Theme—Medieval World
Knights and
Squires
Patrol and individual challenges and games shall be scheduled for
all of Saturday. Events will be inspired by knights, castles,
chivalry, and days of old.
Be Prepared
My lords and ladies: the Kingdom of Elk Lick has a varied terrain.
As such, please allow thyself to become wet from the flowing water
or encrusted in earthen muck. Your unit dress attire will not be
appropriate for your enjoyment of the day!
Individual Games
Individual events shall be demonstrations of the knight’s skills. If
one has not been knighted, then squires may seek recognition from
the throne through mastery of the skills passed on by Lord Baden
Powell of Gilwell.
Patrol Contests
The Duke of Nippert is challenging all Patrols of knights and squires
from all shires and parishes to participate in contests throughout
the day!
You will be presented with opportunities to show your mettle in
amusing and jovial contests. Please have your patrol ready to
demonstrate the following skills:






The JOUST
STORMING THE CASTLE
Climbing the BASTILLE
Defeating the BLACK NIGHT
SLAYING THE DRAGON
Caring for your MOUNT
Don’t forget your SHRUBBERY for the Knights who say NI!
Iron Scout
Triathlon
Calumet is pleased to offer the Iron Scout Triathlon. This event is
open to Calumet Scouts and Scouters over 14 years of age. Awards
are given in several divisions. As all other Triathlon events, this is
a fitness based event.
Canadian
Roundhouse
One of the many traditions of Calumet has been the Canadian
Roundhouse. An event hosted by Gilwellians, this event roots itself
in many of Scouting’s finest traditions.
