This newsletter will highlight the specifics for the week. Please be sure to read it carefully, to ensure you are aware of any special supply requests and the week’s schedule. To ensure your child’s safety, we require that your child wear his/her Teen Camp T-shirt on field trip days. Teen Camp t-shirts should be in good condition with sleeves intact and should not be covered by other clothing. T-shirts will be handed out during your child’s first week at camp. A $10 fee will be charged for replacement shirts. Drop-off & Pick-up Procedures All campers will need to be signed in and signed out each day by the adult bringing them and picking them up. The person picking up and dropping off must be listed as an authorized person. If preferred, you may complete a permission slip for your child to sign themselves in/out each day. Swimming Days Swim dates are tentative with pool schedules and conditions. We will utilize the buddy system for campers and counselors will supervise using a rotation system. Any swimmer wanting to go into a deep area of a pool will first have to pass a swim test to be allowed to do so. Money is not needed for any of the field trips. If you choose to send money with your child, we ask that you send a maximum of $5. Your child will be responsible for his/her own money. It is based on a three-strike system. Counselors are not responsible for money or personal property brought by the children. Children are allowed to play with personal belongings at before and after camp care, but not during Teen Camp. Each camper is personally responsible for what they bring to camp. F irst Strike A phone call to the parent/guardian will be made, along with sending a note home. S econd Strike A phone call and a confirming note will be issued. In addition, a reminder will be sent that a third strike will result in dismissal from the camp. Third Strike The child will be removed from the group and will wait with a staff member while the parent is called to pick him/her up. He/she will not be allowed to return to camp for the remainder of the summer. No refund will be issued. 4 Late Pick-Up & Early Drop-Off Charges When scheduled pick-ups and drop-offs are not followed, camp staff must spend additional time on the clock. As a result, camp fees continue to rise. To help maintain a reasonable cost to you, please make sure your child is picked up and dropped off on time. Charges will be as follows: first ten minutes, $5; each additional minute thereafter, $1 per minute. Fees must be paid prior to returning to the program. Please make arrangements to pick-up and drop-off your child on time. Dundee Township Park District • (847) 428-7131 x1101 • www.dtpd.org •
