Happiness According to Peanuts

In a Peanuts cartoon, Lucy asks Charlie Brown, “Why do you think we are put on
earth?”
Charlie replies, “To make others happy.”
“I don’t think I’m making anyone happy,” say Lucy, then adds, “but nobody’s
making me happy either. Somebody’s not doing his job!”
Well, we do wonder whose job it is to make us happy. And I often remember that
Happiness is an inside job.
The spiritual life teaches us that happiness, or joy, comes from being connected
with God, finding purpose, and helping others. So, who is giving you advice, or a
formula for discovering happiness?
