Question: I have a 40kg parcel. Which product
should I book?
Answer: Since your parcel is over the weight limit
of 32kg, EQUATION HEAVY is your best option.
Q: My 20kg parcel is cooled with dry ice.
Can I use EQUATION?
A: No, EQUATION is for General Cargo only and
AOG parts. For dry ice (ICE), book EQUATION
HEAVY. The same applies to other specific
commodities like non-AOG aircraft parts, dangerous
goods (excluding explosives) and some services for
pharmaceuticals. For the full list, please contact your
customer service representative.
Q: With the new product specifications, can
we say that Air France Cargo and KLM Cargo
are fully aligned?
A: Yes. One of our main reasons for offering
you these new product specifications was to simplify
the rules for you.
Q: Can you clarify the cut-off and delivery times?
A: For EQUATION, cut-off and delivery times are
set at 90 minutes. Times may vary locally.
CDG cut-off and delivery are set at 120 minutes.
For EQUATION HEAVY, cut-off and delivery times
have been set at 180 minutes for both general cargo
and other special cargo. Once again, times
at the stations may vary. SPL cut-off time is set at
300 minutes for Dangerous goods.
Q: What about sensitive destinations
(e.g. Brazil or Cuba) on Air France?
A: We will treat your cargo to sensitive destinations
manually in order to ensure that no partial shipping
occurs and that the documents travel with the
shipments at all time. This is due to local regulations
that apply in the countries concerned. Doing this
avoids penalties upon arrival of your shipments.
We offer a minimum connecting time of 6 hours
to those destinations.
Q: My parcel is 2m long, can I use EQUATION?
A: Maximum dimensions for EQUATION are
130 x 90 x 80cm. EQUATION HEAVY is the solution
for this type of shipment.
Q: What is the difference between a first flight
out and a first available flight?
A: EQUATION offers a connection or departure on
the first flight out i.e. the first scheduled flight once
the cut-off or transit times have passed. The uplift is
guaranteed. The first available flight for EQUATION
HEAVY shipments is the first flight on which we have
capacity. Once you have booked on a certain flight,
uplift is guaranteed.
Q: Is EQUATION e-freight friendly?
A: Certainly, EQUATION is fully compliant with
e-freight and AF-KLM Cargo is one of the top 3
airlines for e-freight. Using e-freight will decrease
the costs and facilitate fast transit times with no
risk of lost documents. Moreover, we strive to be
environmentally friendly!
Q: Do you carry EQUATION on freighters?
A: While we only use our passenger aircraft for
EQUATION, you can use both passenger and
freighter aircraft for your EQUATION HEAVY
shipments.
