Troy is the son of Chuck and Nancy Galloway. Ten interesting facts about Troy… 1. Troy is a senior at Southern Polytechnic State University, and has been on the Dean's List every semester. 2. He will graduate on May 7, 2011 with a Civil Engineering Technology Degree. 3. He won the 2011 Georgia Engineering Technology Student of the Year Award presented by the Georgia Engineering Alliance. 4. Troy is the Vice-President of Southern Poly's American Society of Civil Engineers and Institute of Transportation Engineers, and he is also a member of Tau Alpha Pi and Alpha Chi Honor Societies. 5. This is his second year as a member of the SPSU Concrete Canoe team, which competes in the ASCE South Eastern Conference. 6. Yes, it floats! He won the First Annual American Concrete Institute's Battle of the Mixes Battering Ram Competition. His team busted through a 3000 psi 4 inch thick concrete wall in 15 seconds. 7. Go Dawgs - Sic' Em WOOF WOOF WOOF!!!! 8. Troy and his girlfriend, Teigan McIntosh, have been dating for over 2.5 years 9. He was baptized and became a member of CUMC on June 11, 2000. Teigan and Allison Erbele were acolytes. 10. Troy has a cute little teddy bear hamster named Pirate. 4 What’s New at CUMC? Youth & Family Bible Study This year we are starting a new Bible study for the youth and their families. Our youth learn by example and by watching their parents actively participating in a Bible study will show our kids that God is an important factor in all of our lives. Mission Project This a working program at the White County Intermediate School to see that kids on the free lunch program have food and/or snacks that can be easily prepared for the weekends. The following is a list of suggested items to donate: ENTREES: Ravioli with meat sauce, Spaghetti O's with Meatballs, Individually wrapped Mac & Cheese, Beef Stew, Red Beans & Rice, Beans and Franks, Beef-a-Roni, Soup, tuna/chicken pouches, chili. BREAKFAST ITEMS: individually wrapped cereal, pop tarts, cereal bars, granola bars, Nutrigrain bars, individual packs of grits or oatmeal. DRINKS: Juice boxes, milk boxes, (non -refrigerated) bottled water. SNACKS: Dried or canned fruits, fruit chews, peanut butter crackers, cheese crackers, pretzels, goldfish, pudding or Jell-o cups, mini-microwave popcorn.
