Ø MEETING GRADUATE FACULTY REQUIREMENTS
Participation in professional activities
During the past five years, I have presented several academic research papers at the annual
meetings of National Communication Association, International Communication Association,
Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, Midwest Political Science
Association, and International Public Relations Research Conference. Four of the papers won
the best research paper award. I have also served Korean American Communication
Association, not-for-profit organization, as a Webmater (2013-2015) and a NCA vice
president (2015-present).
Pulbications
During the past five years, I have published 12 peer-reviewed journal articles in Korean
Journal of Communication Studies, Public Relations Review, Public Relations
Journal, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, PRism, Journal of Information
Technology & Politics, Journalism Studies, and Corporate Reputation Review. I have also two
book chapters in Communication in the 2008 U.S. election: digital natives elect a president
and Techno politics in presidential campaigning.
Graduate teaching
Joining the University of Hawaii at Manoa in August 2015, I am teaching one graduate
seminar course in Fall 2015 (COM644 Global Communication and Journalism). I have six
Master’s students in the class. I will also serve on the thesis committee for one Master’s
student in Fall 2015 majoring in Communication.
