Examine the Preamble of the American Constitution
Why this lesson is important:
The Preamble to the Constitution of the United States establishes the purpose of the Constitution. It acted as a
“Mission Statement” for the Framers of the Constitution. In this learning plan, you will analyze the Preamble to
determine the goals, the beneficiaries, and the responsible parties. You will also write a Preamble or Mission
Statement for your role as a citizen of the United States.
