Wonder Under
Black cotton fabric cut to 8”x8”. Solid black or gold and black pattern
Gold fabric for wings – satin, cotton
(optional) sheer sparkly gold fabric for wings – choose fabric that does not shed glitter
Gold fabric for center of snitch – brocade, velvet, cotton, suede
Gold embroidery floss
Gold thread
Cellophane (party stores cell it by the roll)
Ribbon – 8 pieces of ribbon cut into 4” pieces

Step 1: Print the pattern pieces. Cut the wing pattern out. Use the wing pattern to cut out gold
fabric. I used a gold satin. If you want to use another layer of gold sparkly fabric you can cut
those pieces out as well. I cut mine larger than the pattern piece since they will be sandwiched
in-between the fabric pieces.
Step 2: Sew the snitch’s wings, right sides together. Clip seam. Flip inside out and press.
4
Step 3: Stuff the wings with cellophane. Tear the cellophane into tiny pieces. Make sure to
push the pieces all the way in to the ends of the wings. You can use a corner turner or pencil to
help push them in.
Step 4: Lay Wonder Under over the circle pattern and trace the pattern piece onto the
Wonder Under. Cut this out leaving at least ¼” around. Press the piece onto the wrong side of
your fabric. I used brocade because it had a nice thick texture.
5
Step 5: Stitch the wings to the black cotton square. Figure out the placement of everything and
stitch the wings back and forth several times so they are secured tightly. Make sure to keep
your stitching near the center where it will be covered by the circle.
6
Step 6: Peel off the Wonder Under and press the circle down. It should cover the ends of the
wings. Hand stitch the circle down using gold embroidery floss and a running stitch.
I hand-tacked the wings in one spot to keep them from falling down. I did this from the back of
the square and made sure my stitches weren’t seen from the front.
7
Step 7: Add ribbon pieces along the sides of the square. I placed four pieces of
ribbon on each side, right sides together. Stitch the ribbon very well as they may
get a lot of wear from your little one.
The Golden Snitch side of the cube is complete!
