Just Love Food Company Ltd secures contract with
Sainsbury’s to supply nut allergy free bakery products
Michael Woods is celebrating the start-up of his bakery business Just Love Food
Company Ltd after securing the backing of NatWest and Finance Wales.

Since diagnosis in 2001
I have been unable to buy
a birthday cake for my nut
allergy suffering children from
high street stores. All high
street supermarket birthday
cakes carry a warning that
make the product ‘not suitable
for nut allergy sufferers’.
Having built up over 20 years’
experience in the food industry
I decided it was time I put this
right. I am thrilled with the
financial support received from
NatWest and Finance Wales.

Just Love Food Company Ltd
NatWest has provided funding using the Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme
(EFG) to provide essential working capital to help the set-up of the business
alongside a loan from Finance Wales which will also ensure the business
has sufficient funds to pursue its business growth strategy. The EFG is the
Government backed scheme designed to provide businesses with the necessary
working capital or investment finance. Under the scheme, the Government will
guarantee 75% of any loans made and the bank covers the remaining 25%.
Just Love Food Company Ltd identified a gap in the market for the supply of nut
allergy free celebration cakes and associated products. Using his considerable
experience of the food sector – having worked in management roles at Avana
Bakeries and Memory Lane Cakes, Michael has established an exciting business
in a niche market. Michael also understands first-hand the challenges of buying
allergy-free food because he has two children who suffer from nut allergies.
The business has already won a contract to exclusively supply its products to
Sainsbury’s supermarkets and is in discussion with other multiples.
Martyn Bale, Senior Relationship Manager at NatWest commented: “My
relationship with Michael started after an introduction from accountants Graham
Paul & Company and since then I have worked closely with Michael to review
his business plan and assess the right funding option for the start-up of Just Love
Food Company Ltd. Just Love Food Company Ltd is the result of great vision and
forward thinking and the funding we have provided will enable the company to
take advantage of its promising entry into the market and expand in line with
their growth plans and future contract wins. We are very happy to provide the
financial support and look forward to working with the company in the future.”
