FROM THE DIRECTOR
Dear Friends,
Happy spring! As winter’s greys mix into vibrant new palettes, we look
forward to celebrating a season filled with the arts here at CSMA!
We’re excited to offer new (and returning) multidisciplinary arts classes
for adults and kids – explore this catalog for details.
We’re thrilled to launch our Student Chamber Music Program this spring!
Creating new opportunities to make music together, we now offer faculty
coaching for small ensembles (duos to quintets). We help match up
students and also welcome existing groups.
Our Sixth Annual Joni Mitchell Tribute Concert on March 7 was a huge
success! Joni aficionados packed CSMA’s Hamblin Hall to celebrate the
music of the beloved folk singer and to raise funds for our scholarship
program. As the weather keeps warming up, we’ll usher in lots of new events!
Student Chamber Music Program
Joni Mitchell Tribute Concert
We’ll host the second Ithaca Fringe Festival, a celebration of independent
theatre. Ithaca Fringe will take place April 16-19, with CSMA as a main
performance venue. Learn more at www.ithacafringe.com.
Ithaca Fringe Festival
Ithaca Children's Chior
The spring concert of the Ithaca Children’s Choir will be held on May 12
at Ford Hall in the Whalen Center, Ithaca College. Join us for an evening of
music performed by our outstanding young vocalists!
As always, we welcome art lovers to our gallery shows. The sculpture
exhibition Chris Oliver/Ann Reichlin: Inherent Structure continues
through April 24. Faculty member Rob Licht co-curated with yours truly!
In May, we’ll open two new shows on First Friday Gallery Night: H. Peter
Kahn Retrospective presented by the Ink Shop; and Better Together:
2015 Ithaca Festival Artist Todd Ayoung.
You can stay in touch with details of our spring programs by visiting our website, www.csma-ithaca.org,
or by liking us on Facebook. Here’s to a new season filled with meaningful artistic exploration!
All the best,
