ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL
Please notify the school if your child has been absent from school for more than three days. No fee
deductions if a child is absent due to sickness or absence.
ADMITTANCE POLICY
Our school is an Afrikaans/English based school. Children from the age of 3 must be able to converse in
English or Afrikaans to be allowed admission.
ARRIVAL AND COLLECTIONS
The school opens at 06h30 every day. Please escort your child to the class and hand him/her over to the
Staff member on duty. Please don’t leave the child at the gate.
Attending school for the first time is a new experience for your child. We urge parents to give a warm
goodbye and to drop and go. Should it be required, one of our personnel will calm the child with love and
compassion once you have left. Should we feel the need, we will contact the parent of any child whose
anxiety persists longer than normal.
The daily program starts at 8h00. Please make sure your child is on time, since the child will miss out on
activities if he/she is late.
Children will only be released to the designated persons stated on the Application form. If you need to
make alternative arrangements for your child to get home (playing at a friend’s house etc.) a written note
must be sent to school on that morning giving the school permission to do so. A phone call to the Office is
also acceptable.
ASSESSMENT REPORTS
An adjustment report will be handed out end of April. Children will receive reports in June and December.
APPOINTMENTS AND ADDRESSING PROBLEMS
If a child’s behaviour is unacceptable to the school, the Class Teacher and Principal will make an
appointment with the parents to discuss the issue. If the school sees a need for the child to get additional
help from a third party such as a Psychologist, Play Therapist or Occupational Therapist to assist in his or
her needs, the school will make a recommendation. All reports must be made available to the school.
If you would like to make an appointment with a Teacher or Principal of the school, please contact the
Office.
