Nonfiction Features Flipbook Directions
Materials Needed: Flipbook Sheets, 9 x 12 construction paper. gluestick, scissors
1.
Students need to cut out the flipbook word cards first.
2.
Fold the construction paper “hamburger” style in half.
3.
Unfold and then fold each side toward the center fold.
4. Students then glue the word cards on the outside flaps.
5. After gluing they should cut between the cards
on the top layer only.
6. Next, they need to cut out the meaning cards and glue them on the
back of the correct word flaps.
NOTE: Before the students do the next step the flipbook should be checked.
1.
Then the students cut out the scavenger card slips.
2. They glue these slips next to the meaning—down the center of the
flipbook.
3. When they find the feature, another student or teacher can initial
the blank.
4.
The book folds up and can be clipped together for easy storage.
