In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in Ice
Land USA programs, related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that:
1) The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is
significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and
death, and while particular rules, equipment and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of injury does exist; and 2) I
KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both
know and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and 3) I willingly agree to comply with
the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation.
If, however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my
presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation

Welcome to the Ice Land USA
Learn-to-Skate program!
This program offers quality instruction using the
United States Figure Skating guidelines.
Format Summer —thirty Minute Classes held on
Mondays and/or Wednesdays
First Day Procedure Skaters should arrive at
least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled class time
to pick up name tag and to allow sufficient time for
preparation.
Equipment Single Blade hockey or figure skates
are required. All sizes of hockey and figure
skates are available to rent for only $3.00 each
week. Helmets are required for all children 5 years
of age and under (bicycle helmets are acceptable)
Attire Flexible pants (athletic wear) and warm
clothing, including hats and gloves or mittens, are
recommended for all skaters! No jeans and don’t
forget socks.
Payment Cash, check or credit card (Visa or
Master Card). Checks payable to Iceland USA
Lakewood.
Policies 100% refund will be given up to 5 days
before the first day of class. No refunds will be
given after the first day of classes. We do not prorate classes. The rink reserves the right to cancel
or consolidate any class.

Class Descriptions
Snowplow Sam 1—4 The Snowplow Sam levels are designed to
help preschool-age skaters develop preliminary coordination and
strength necessary to maneuver on the ice.
Basic 1—6 The “Basic Skills” are the fundamentals of the sport.
These eight levels of the program introduce the fundamental
moves; forward skating, backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, three turns and Mohawks.
Junior Club Free Skate 1 through 6. All Free Skate classes will
include stroking, moves, jumps, spins. Students will learn moves
to prepare for pre-preliminary test (USFSA 1st Level above LTS).
Adult 1—6 The Adult curriculum is designed for the
beginner adult skater. It will promote physical fitness as well as
improve balance and coordination while learning proper skating
techniques. Divided into six levels, adult skaters will progress at
an individual rate while being challenged and motivated.
Hockey Learn to Play Hockey is held on Wednesdays at 6 pm.
Skaters must have passed Snowplow 3 or Basic 2 in order to enroll
in this class. Basic equipment is required (Helmet, Gloves, Elbow
pads & Stick) Adult Hockey class on Mondays at 7:30 pm
Tot Hockey (must have passed Snowplow 1) teaches proper
hockey stance both forward and backward, glides, T-push and
Front to back, Back to front stationary turns.
Hockey Power Skating Must have passed snowplow 3 or Basic 2.
Class works on powerful backward C-cuts, crossovers, hockey
turns, pivots, fast starts/stops and backward skating with V-stops.
Theatre On Ice—incorporates the TOI elements of choreography,
skating movements and rapport between skaters and/or sub groups
of skaters at an intro level.
LTS Intro to Dance the ice dance badge prorogram focuses on
components of ice dancing and basic edges/turns while skating to
music.
Synchronized Skating—Syncro badge program is a great way to
introduce Synchronized Skating to skaters already taking group
lessons. Skaters may progress individually or as a group through
Synchro 1-4.
