TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
Polymer bitumen membranes must be protected from the UV rays and from atmospheric agents using products which avoids the
excessive heating.
POLYVER ALU is a protective paint based on oxidized bitumen and solvents, containing aluminum pigments.
After drying it forms a protective and reflecting (SRI 61%) film resistant to atmospheric agents and to corrosion in general.
WHERE TO APPLY IT
POLYVER ALU is usually recommended as a protection for waterproofing of bituminous polymer membranes and of liquid
bituminous membranes. POLYVER ALU can also be applied on metal and on concrete conglomerate.
HOW TO APPLY IT
Bituminous surfaces must be perfectly clean and dry. Mix the product energetically in the bucket to obtain an uniform paint.
Since it is a bituminous product, after mixing the paint will have a dark bronze colour in the bucket. After the application, the
membrane surface has an aluminum colour and protective and reflecting appearance.
POLYVER ALU is either sprayed or applied by means of roller and brush. POLYVER ALU must be applied in several coats - at
least 2 coats in order to have a protective aluminum finishing or more according to the aimed finishing.
For the application on new membranes it is recommended to wait 3-6 months after their application before applying the protective
paint on top of them. The total consumption is of about 200-250 gr/m2 per coat.
The complete drying of the product takes normally place after 4 hours at 25 °C but it is suggested to wait at least for 24 hours
between one coat and the following one.
Pay attention not to apply the product during the hottest hours of the day, especially in summer in order to avoid the quick drying
of the film.
Tools can be washed with common solvents. POLYVER ALU is a protective paint for UV rays, it reflects the heat and it cannot be
considered a decorative paint of the surfaces.
