OUR STORY
The long version of how we started The Office
goes back to 2010. Matt, who owns a sandwich
shop in West Seattle, turned to his friend Travis,
who was kind of bored at the time, and said,
“Want to open a bar?” And Travis said, “Sure.
That sounds fun.” And so the two of them
opened The Office. Uh-oh. The long version of our story ended up shorter than the
short version. Some other stuff probably
happened in there too. We had to pick
a name, of course. We called it The
Office, which you probably saw. So
there’s that. We thought it was important to make as much of the
food from scratch as possible.
We make our onion rings from
scratch. Our mac and cheese.
Our sauces. OK, now I’m just
listing things. Are you really still
reading? Kind of a bookworm, aren’t you? About now your friends
are probably wondering what you’re
reading. Tell them that this building
was a brothel a hundred years ago.
It’s probably not true. But it will distract
them while you finish reading. Anyway.

This page is supposed to be our
story, but who’s got the time to read
all the way to the bottom? So here’s the
short version of how The Office came to
be. In 2010, we set out to open the kind
of bar that we wanted to hang out in. It
would have lots on tap, great mixed drinks,
hand pressed burger patties, and trivia on
Thursday nights. And here you sit, so we
must have come pretty close to the mark.
