Center for Global Education, Augsburg College (CGE)
$500 - $7000
The Center for Global Education offers a range of scholarships and financial
aid to students with demonstrated financial need and whose participation in a
semester or summer academic program contributes to a community of colearners that values a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
Auggie Tuition Discount is available to all Augsburg Students
doing a CGE semester or academic year. $1000 automatic
discount per semester. In addition students may apply for the

The Diversity Scholarship is for students who have not
traditionally been represented in study abroad. Awards cover up
to 50% of the cost of a semester program abroad and up to
$1,000 off the cost of a summer academic program.
International Partners & Exchange (IPE) programs connect
Augsburg with universities in Europe and Asia and allows for a
discount of $1000. There are no forms to submit for this discount.
Need-Based Financial Aid is available for students with
demonstrated financial need. Awards cover up to 50% of the cost
of a semester program abroad and up to $1,000 off the cost of a
summer academic program.
Returnee Discount: Automatic discount off a second semester
program for students who combine two semester programs during
their college career. There are no forms to submit for this
discount.

American-Scandinavian Foundation
Up to $5000 for research in Scandinavia, upon completion of an
undergraduate degree by the start of the project. Also fellowship grants up to

Monthly cash award of $800 and paid airfare

Bridging Scholarships for Study Abroad in Japan
Association of Teachers of Japanese Bridging Project Clearinghouse
American students participating in semester or year-long study abroad
programs in Japan are eligible for scholarships for spring 2009.
Undergraduate students majoring in any field of study are eligible. Recipients
will receive a stipend of $2,500 for semester programs, and $4,000 for year

Critical Language Scholarships
The United States Department of State and the Council of American
Overseas Research Centers (CAORC) are pleased to announce the
availability of overseas scholarships for intensive summer language institutes
in eleven critical need foreign languages for summer study.

Foundation for Global Scholars
$500-$1500
Eligibility requires that the student is enrolled in a College or University in
North America and that the credits being earned abroad go towards the
specific degree being earned. The student must be a US or Canadian Citizen
and time abroad must be spent in one of 25 different countries listed on the

FEA was created in order to open doors for deserving education abroad
students. FEA will award funds for students planning to study abroad on any
academically rigorous programs. Designed by our Advisory Board, FEA
scholarships are intended to meet the financial needs of students who might
not be eligible for government grants or existing funds limited to specific

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
Offers scholarships to students seeking to study at a German University,
carry out a senior thesis, or participate in an internship in Germany. Periods
of study awarded are either 4 or 10 months in the German academic year
(Oct.-July). Students receive a monthly stipend plus more funds to help pay

Gilman Scholarship
The Gilman aims to broaden the student population that studies abroad by
supporting undergraduates who have been traditionally under-represented in
U.S. study abroad and those with high financial need. To be eligible students
must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application and cannot
study abroad in a country currently under a U.S. travel Department of State
Travel Warning or in Cuba. Awards up to $5000. Once awarded the student
can then apply for an additional Critical Need Language Supplement award
for $3,000. Additional summer scholarships for all majors are now available

Go Overseas Study Abroad New Zealand Scholarship
If you are interested in studying abroad in New Zealand Spring, Summer or
Fall 2015. You will be eligible to get scholarship up to full tuition ($15000
NZD) and will be eligible for the flight to be covered through STA Travel.

LIVFund: Scholarships to Learn, Intern & Volunteer in Latin America
We are proud to award 2 scholarships per month in the amount of US$500
each to students studying, interning or volunteering abroad in a Latina
American country. Candidates have to be 18 years or older and may apply

Malmberg Scholarship for Study in Sweden
The Malmberg Scholarship for Study in Sweden will grant significant funding
(up to $10,000) for up to one year of study or research in Sweden to a U.S.
resident who is either (a) a student enrolled in a degree-granting program at
an accredited college or university in the U.S. whose current study can be
supplemented by time in Sweden, or (b) a qualified scholar engaged in study
or research in the U.S. whose work can be enhanced by study in Sweden.

Mondale Scholarship Program for Study Abroad in Japan
The Japan America Society of Minnesota (JASM) will award the Mondale
Scholarship to Minnesota undergraduate students enrolled in Minnesota
colleges and universities who want to broaden their knowledge of Japan
through a combination of study and travel. The selection committee has the
discretion to award up to three $1,000 scholarships or two $1,500
scholarships. The awards are specifically to be used for travel to or within
Japan before, during, or after the student’s specified term(s) of study.

National Security Education Program (NSEP)
Students who wish to obtain language and culture training in areas
considered in short supply by the U.S. government. Excludes Western
Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Six weeks of study or longer.
Awards are up to $8,000 for summer, $10,000 for semester; $20,000

PFund Scholarships for GLBT Students
GLBT students or students from a GLBT identified family and is a legal
resident of Minnesota may be eligible for this award through PFund.

Rotary International
Ambassadorial Scholarships. Awards available for language study is
$11,000 for 3months and $16,000 for six months. Awards for academic study
for one year is $24,000. Students can apply for up to 2 consecutive years of

Study Abroad Scholarships in Turkey for American Minority Students
The Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) has a diverse array of scholarship
programs that support its educational mission. One of these programs
provides up to 100 scholarships to African American, Hispanic American and
Native American students who choose Turkey to study abroad. TCA
Scholarships range from $500 to $2,000 per student.

Syracuse University Abroad
This study abroad provider has scholarship opportunities for all offered
programs. The Tuition Differential Grant (up to $4,000), Merit Based
Scholarship (up to $1,200-based on G.P.A.), the Need Based Study Abroad
Grants (SAG) (up to $2,500-bases on FAFSA or IRS 1040 forms), all have
specific requirements that are open to all programs. There are also grants for
up to $3,000 available for studies in Beijing (fall & spring) and Santiago (fall).
