Game Plan for Success
Presented by Joe Theismann
11:30am-12:30pm
This dynamic presentation outlines the game plan that brought Joe Theismann success both on and off the football field. The former
NFL MVP quarterback and Super Bowl champion, will reveal his Game Plan for Success by drawing parallels between winning in
football and in business. Joe Theismann focuses on how to succeed under pressure -- when it’s “4th and 1” -- and how to adapt
quickly to unexpected situations -- when you’re faced with a “blitz” instead of a “zone.” He urges individuals and organizations to set
goals and correct errors each step of the way, an approach that builds momentum, which, once on your side, would be hard for even
the best defense to stop!

The Ethics of Excellence
Presented by Alexandra Jackiw
10 -11am, Room 152 A&B
Every day each of us faces tough choices. We have to make
decisions that affect our professional performance, and those
decisions impact many others. Not every issue is clear-cut.
Alexandra Jackiw
Surely, some answers are black or white, but ethical questions
can, and do, come in many shades of gray. Having a framework
or guideline to use when making choices can help us choose
wisely, stay on track ethically and help ensure that the right path is taken. Each and every
one of us is accountable for acting ethically – with fairness, objectivity, honesty, integrity,
loyalty and trust. We also need to be aware of what’s legal and acceptable. Attend this
seminar to learn the keys to keeping ethics in the forefront of your decision-making and
obtain guidance for responding to potentially compromising situations.
Leadership That Lasts Beyond a Lifetime
Presented by Alexandra Jackiw
1:30--2:30pm, Room 152 A&B
Improve your performance by increasing your ability to motivate others and meet the
difficult challenges of
today’s economy and business world. Deepen your self-awareness and empower your
staff to improve performance.
Attend this seminar to:
• Learn the importance of trust in the workplace and how to increase employee
satisfaction and performance by engendering trust.
• Discover the most important leadership qualities and competencies, and how
leadership differs from management.
• Understand, coach, and motivate team members to help them improve professionally
and grow personally.
• Open lines of communication to ensure shared understanding, increased
engagement and better team-member retention.
About the Presenter
Alex Jackiw joined Milhaus in 2014 as president of its property management company.
She is responsible for overseeing property operations and asset management functions
for the Milhaus-owned portfolio and expanding management services to select thirdparty, institutional clients. Prior to joining Milhaus Jackiw worked for several privatelyheld regional companies as well as large publicly traded investment management
firms. Jackiw has experience managing conventional market-rate properties, student
housing, full-service retirement communities, nursing homes, LIHTC communities and
HUD-regulated properties. Her experience includes all aspects of property and asset
management, marketing, training, consulting, troubled property turnarounds and new
business development.
Jackiw received the NAAEI Apartment Career and Education (ACE) Award in 2011 in
recognition of her commitment to training industry professionals. In 2012 Real Estate
Forum Magazine named Jackiw a Woman of Influence in Real Estate, and in 2013 the
Institute of Real Estate Management named her as one of the Women Changing the
Face of Property Management. The Indianapolis Business Journal honored her in 2015
as a Woman of Influence.
Olympic Operations Track
Presented by the PMA Operations Council
Energy-Saving Benefits of Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) Operations
10-11am, Room 154 A
Learn how VRV systems can help increase NOI by controlling energy use at multifamily
residential and office buildings and deliver significant energy savings to property
managers. This seminar will discuss the installation footprint of VRV systems, including
the modular design of outdoor units and a wide selection of indoor units that allows
building engineers to ensure that system designs are suited for their applications. This
seminar will give you the tools to make your property more energy-efficient and profitable
and make you look like a superstar.
Cha Ching! Greening the Bottom Line and Improving Operating Efficiencies
1:30-2:30pm, Room 154 A
There is a whole array of programs at state and federal levels providing multiple
opportunities to reduce your property’s energy use and, thus, lower operating costs while
increasing energy efficiency. These energy-conservation programs provide benefits, often
in form of rebates, to almost anything at your property that consumes energy or water.
Almost all facets of your property’s operation can be optimized — and made less costly
— by participating in these programs. Attend this seminar to get inspired about making
your property more sustainable and efficient.
