Director: The University of Oklahoma Archaeological Expedition to Italy: The Casinum Project (Monte Cassino, Italy). July 2001. 2. Archaeological Field Supervisor with the Combined Caesarea Expeditions to Caesarea Maritima (Caesarea, Israel). Summer months of 1990-2000. In June, 1990 I accepted this position with the Combined Caesarea Expeditions (CCE). I remained with this project for eleven consecutive -12- years, through 2000. The CCE is an international archaeological enterprise consisting of a consortium of international universities which is excavating the ancient Roman city of Caesarea Maritima located approximately 50 kilometers north of Tel Aviv, Israel. Field Supervisor with this project is a position directly below that of Director of the entire project. 3. Co-Director of the Combined Caesarea Expedition Archaeological Field School. 1990-2000. 4. Archaeological Field-worker and Compiler for the American Philological Association's Atlas of the Greek and Roman World. (1990-2000) On September 2, 1990 I accepted an invitation to join this atlas project as a compiler/field-archaeologist/ surveyor of Roman and Greek archaeological sites in southern Portugal. I am one of sixty invited international scholars who were asked to participate in this project. My task has been to survey over 3,000 known and recently discovered Roman and Greek sites in southern Portugal and contribute this data to the creation of maps and accompanying gazetteers for the Iberian Peninsula. This new atlas is the first comprehensive atlas of the Roman and Greek world since the appearance of Heinrich Kiepert's Formae Orbis Antiqui in 1894. Its contribution to the scholarly community will be of value well into the 21st century. Working in cooperation with the American Philological Association and the National Endowment for the Humanities, the editor of the atlas project invited me and other scholars to work on the Atlas of the Greek and Roman World, with cartography by R.R. Donnelley and Sons Co. Princeton Univ. Press, 2000. C. ARCHAEOLOGICAL 'FIELD-SURVEYS' IN PORTUGAL: 1981, 1986, 1987, 1989. These surveys involved summer research projects in Portugal funded by OU. Results from these summer research projects contributed to publications dealing with Roman Portugal (Lusitania) and were critical to the completion of the map and text that I contributed to the Atlas of the Greek and Roman World: Princeton Press, 2000.
