Scoggins Father/Son Basketball Shooting Competition
Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
Scoggins is proud to have been selected as a Healthy School Zone in Training by the Cooper Institute and
United Way of Metropolitan Dallas for the 2014-2015 school year! Please see the following link for

The Healthy School Zone Committee will be creating health and wellness programs throughout the year
to promote physical activity in our students, faculty members, parents, and community members.
We are excited to invite fathers and sons, or father-like figures, to compete in a Father/Son Basketball
Shootout Competition at Scoggins. Students in grades 6th- 8th are encouraged to register with fathers or
anyone they consider a father figure (uncle, mentor, etc.) The competition will be held in the Scoggins
Main Gym on Monday, Dec. 8 – Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014. Fathers are asked to register for one time slot
per son on the link below.
The competition is strictly shooting, so anyone can compete. Pairs will compete against others by grade
level. We look forward to a fun experience!
The competition will include:

Father will shoot free throws for 1 minute
Son will shoot free throws for 1 minute
Father will shoot 3 point shots for one minute
Son will shoot 3 point shots for one minute
2 minute timed shots from any area. Father and son will shoot simultaneously. Points will be
tallied according to the area of the shot taken.
