become Clientèle Limited shareholders
lientèle launched a competition
allowing all IFAs to participate
in a Share Appreciation Rights
Scheme, called Khula Nathi in March
2012. This scheme provides qualifying
IFAs the opportunity to acquire
ordinary shares in Clientèle Limited
and in April 2015 well over 100 IFAs
were awarded with a total of almost
11 million Bonus Rights which converts
to around R100 million in potential
share value. The qualifying IFAs can
choose to exercise their Bonus Rights
or keep to exercise later.
“It is with great excitement that we award
the qualifiers. Since the scheme launched
in 2012, the qualifying IFAs have invested
their time and hard work and as such,
will see value in their investment. We are
also extremely proud to be in a position
to contribute so substantially to the South
African economy through life-changing
reward systems,” says Group Managing
Director, Basil Reekie.
Qualifying IFAs not only have the
opportunity to become Clientèle Limited
shareholders but are an example to the
rest of the network of what hard work can
really do despite your circumstances. “Khula
Nathi was designed to empower our IFAs.
An opportunity of this magnitude only
comes once in a lifetime, if at all. Well done
to all those who were determined enough
to not let it slip away. You have achieved
what many can only dream of achieving,”
says Marketing Director, Mthunzi Mbali.
Congratulations to the qualifiers listed on
the back page of Izindaba. More Bonus
Rights will be awarded later on in the year
to those who meet the qualifying criteria.
By Louwella Moeti
Izindaba caught up with some of the Khula Nathi qualifiers and this is what they had to say:
Sanele Gumede:
“The company’s commitment to expand
growth through unique service offerings
and industry specialisation is a tribute to us
as IFAs. It gives me a great sense of pride
thinking about all of the experiences I have
had over the years as an IFA (being able to
build my dream house, paying lobola for my
girlfriend and buying a car), and am eager
to continue growing my IFA business.”
Louis Barnard:
“My wife and I have never doubted the
power of IFA, when we received the news
to inform us of our Clientèle shares, we
knew we made the right decision by joining
and investing in this business. The Khula
Nathi share appreciation rights scheme was
something really exciting for us and this
should serve as proof that IFA takes care of
its people and rewards hard work.”
Elsie Gumede:
“I was so excited when I received a
letter from Clientèle informing me that
I’ve qualified to become a Clientèle
Shareholder. IFA is really doing amazing
things for us, who would have thought
that one day I would become a shareholder.
These shares will guarantee that my family
is well taken care of.”

Giving hope and
to Kgautshwane Village
ccording to the World Health Organisation,
approximately 1.1 billion people around the world do
not have access to safe drinking water in 2015. Until
recently, the people of Kgautshwane Village, Limpopo, were
counted among this number.
With the official handover of a water source to Kgautshwane
Village on 22 April 2015 in the form of a manual water pump
this will soon become a distant memory. This project was made
possible by Clientèle’s employees through its corporate social
investment project ‘Employee Giving Campaign’. For the past
five years, Clientèle’s employees have voluntarily consented to
a monthly salary deduction for a period of six months in a year;
the amount is then matched by the company. The programme
further allowed employees to nominate charities they wished
to see benefit from the accumulated proceeds. After extensive
research, Kgautshwane Village was identified as a potential
beneficiary as it was undergoing a major water crisis at the time.
“We are incredibly grateful for what Clientèle has done for
us. The residents in my area previously had to walk an average
of 10km a day just to draw water from the village well,” says
Clara Masinga, Kgautshwane Community Liaison Officer.
Following exhaustive consultation with community leaders, the
project was given the go ahead and a site for the construction
of the water pump was identified. On 29 October 2014, drilling
finally began and after going through many water safety tests,
the water was deemed safe to drink.
“This has been such an exciting and emotional experience
and seeing how Clientèle has actually made a difference in
this community has been incredibly humbling,” says Emily
Molakeng, Senior Corporate Social Investment Officer, Clientèle.
Clientèle has committed to ensuring that the water pump is
kept in good working condition so that residents will continue
to benefit from it. Here is to many more years of making a
sustainable difference in Kgautshwane Village and beyond!
