Transition
So live that when thy summons comes
to join the innumerable caravan,
which moves to that mysterious realm
where each shall take his chamber
in the silent halls of death,
Thou go not like the quarry slave at night,
scourged to his dungeon,
but sustained and soothed by an unfaltering trust,
approach thy grave like one who
wraps the draperies of his couch about him,
and lies down to pleasant dreams.

Processional and Viewing
Alice Beverly Grant Bingham was born June 17, 1937, the youngest of
three girls, to Mr. and Mrs. Alphonso Walter and Easter Marie Fitzgiles Grant.
Reared in a loving, Christian family, she was taught the love of God and life skills.
She attended the Duval County public schools, graduating with the Class of 1954
Selection
from Stanton Senior High School. During her youth, she was a member of the Girl
Scouts. Employment was secured in 1960 with the Duval County School Board,
where she worked for many years in the public schools in the Dietary Department.
Invocation
She accepted Christ at a young age and was a communicant of St. Stephens
A.M.E. Church, participating in the young people's activities. She later joined Mt.
Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend S.A. Thomas,
where she was active for several years. During this time she used her beautiful
gifted contralto voice to the glory of God by singing in Senior Choir #1 and the B. Scripture
W. Williams Choir. Alice loved to sing and listen to music. A favorite song was
Psalm 121:1-8

Alice had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She as never a stranger
to anyone she met; however, if you crossed her path, you received a special nickname. She also had a knack for being on top of all the latest news in the
