FOREWORD
Today we introduced the Top
Table to much delight and
excitement from Year 1 and 2
children. The Top Table is a
special table in the Senior (Year
2) and Pre-Prep (Year 1) Dining
Rooms where children who
display good table manners and eating habits will
be invited to sit on a Thursday during lunch time.
The table will be set as it would be in a
restaurant for when children arrive for lunch and
children will receive an invitation if they have
been chosen to sit at the Top Table. Two children
from each class will be chosen each week. Lunch
will be served to them by the teachers and they
will have the opportunity to sit with children
from the other classes as well as some special
guest teachers.
Many thanks for your co-operation at the
beginning and end of our school day, despite the
fact that the weather warmed up again earlier in
the week. Please remember to pick up from the
external doors as it is difficult for teachers to
dismiss and say goodbye effectively from two
doors. The corridors are teaching areas which is
why we ask you to collect from outside –and not
to wait in them with your children playing after
school has finished.

YEAR 1 THEATRE TRIP
On Tuesday Year 1 went to their
first trip of the year to Al Jaheli
Theatre where they saw ‘The
Gruffalo’ live on stage. The show
retold the story of The Gruffalo by
Julia Donaldson and all the
children agreed it was fantastic! The morning
went without a hitch and they are now looking
forward to their next field trip.
HUMPTY EGG DROP
FS1 have been thinking a lot about safety this
week and their activities based on ’Humpty
Dumpty’ ended with a scientific-based egg drop.
The children had to think about the best way to
protect their egg or tomato Humpty Dumpty
when they dropped it off the school gate this
morning. They all had great fun experimenting!
DIARY DATES
Half term is Wednesday and Thursday next week.
There will be an opportunity to meet your child’s
form teacher in Pre-Prep for a 10-15 minute
appointment on either 2nd November between
3-6pm or 4th November between 5-8pm.
Sign-up sheets for the appointments will be on
the classroom doors after half term.
