your special day. Opened in 1873 as an entertainments
venue for Victorian London, Alexandra Palace has been
at the centre of extraordinary events for over 140 years
including the first regular television broadcast in 1936 by
the BBC.
As a multi-award winning destination we maintain our
original enterprising spirit by hosting a mix of live music,
sport, cultural and leisure events. By hosting your wedding

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
WHAT ARE THE CATERING OPTIONS AT ALEXANDRA PALACE?
Alexandra Palace offers two catering options. The first option is to use our in-house catering company
who can provide a three course set menu or a bespoke package. The second option is dry hire,
which means choosing one of the catering partners from our preferred list to provide your food and
beverages.
WHAT DO I DO ABOUT HIRING ENTERTAINMENT AND DECORATIONS?
If you choose to use one of our preferred caterers then all linen, cutlery and crockery must be supplied
by your chosen caterer. If you use Alexandra Palace catering then all linen, cutlery and crockery will be
provided as part of your package. Any themed decorations and all entertainment is the responsibility of
the client and is not included in either package.
CAN WE USE A CATERER THAT IS NOT ON YOUR PREFERRED LIST?
Alexandra Palace does not permit any caterers onsite who are not on our preferred list. No client is
permitted to self-cater and no caterer is permitted onsite without a license and approved certification
by Alexandra Palace.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE CAN I HOLD A DATE?
Alexandra Palace is a multipurpose venue with limited dates available for weddings each year. These
potential dates are made available every April for the following year. Please join our mailing list to be
sent these dates via email upon release.
WHEN IS THE EARLIEST I CAN HAVE MY BOOKING CONFIRMED?
We can only confirm and contract an event once the client has undertaken a site visit. A site visit can
only take place once the client is holding a provisional booking in our diary. There is no charge to hold
a provisional booking and you are not obligated to move to contract.
WHEN DO YOU HOST YOUR SITE VISITS?
We schedule two weekdays per month for site visits. Please call 0208 365 4199 to find out the next
available viewing date.
WHAT IS THE BOOKING PROCEDURE?
Once the client has had a viewing of the venue they will have two weeks from the viewing date to either
confirm or release the booking.
WHAT IF I WANT TO SEE THE VENUE BEFORE I MAKE A PROVISIONAL BOOKING?
In May each year we host an open day event and any potential client is welcome to book an
appointment and attend.
HOW MANY BANQUETING HALLS ARE THERE AT ALEXANDRA PALACE?
We have 4 banqueting suites in total each ranging in size and offering different capacities:
Londesborough Room: 130
Palace Suite: 300
Panorama Room: 600
West Hall: 1800
CAN I GET MARRIED OUTSIDE UNDER A MARQUEE?
We do not permit private events to take place outside the venue.
WHAT IS THE LATEST I CAN HAVE THE ROOM UNTIL?
All events in the Londesborough Room, Palace Suite and West Hall can continue with music until
23:30 and the room must be vacated by midnight. The Panorama Room, due its marquee structure,
is only permitted to have music playing until 22:30 and the room must be vacated by 23:00. A PA
system is included within the Panorama Room hire fee.
DO YOU PERMIT NAKED FLAMES INSIDE THE VENUE?
No naked flames are permitted inside the building. Burning embers may be used for religious
ceremonies however; additional costs will apply for fire officers.
ARE YOUR ROOMS LICENSED FOR CIVIL CEREMONIES?
All our rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies. We do not offer the option of a standalone ceremony
therefore all ceremonies must be run in conjunction with a reception.
HOW DO I BOOK A REGISTRAR FOR MY WEDDING CEREMONY?

ARE THERE PARKING FACILITIES ONSITE?
We have 1500 parking spaces available on site on a first come first serve basis. Three spaces
may be reserved outside the main entrance for any immediate wedding party. Guests will be
able to park in the Grove car park and the East car park.
IS THERE A CORKAGE FEE?
Guests are not permitted to bring their own alcohol on site. Alexandra Palace does not offer a
corkage fee option.
IS THERE A DIFFERENCE IN PRICE IF WE HOLD OUR EVENT ON A WEEKDAY?
We offer a 10% discount on the hall hire fee for all weddings that take place on Monday –
Thursday.
CAN I HIRE THE VENUE FOR HALF A DAY?
The venue is only available on a full day hire
WHO WILL BE LOOKING AFTER MY EVENT ON THE DAY?
All celebrations will be looked after by a dedicated member of the sales team and a Catering
Manager. Some larger celebrations in the West Hall may also require an Event Manager. If you
have chosen a preferred caterer, they will run your event; however Alexandra Palace will have
overall control. A planning meeting will be arranged prior to the wedding between all parties to
confirm schedules and floor plans.
DO YOU PROVIDE A CHILDREN’S MEAL OPTION?
Anyone up to the age of 12 years is classified as a child and will be suitable for the children’s
meal option that we do provide.
CAN I HAVE A TASTING IF I AM USING YOUR IN HOUSE CATERING?
Alexandra Palace does offer a tasting session however; a minimum number of 150 wedding
guests are required. Please note if the booking does not move forward a charge for the tasting
will apply.
