Application
The tape must be oriented and
positioned on the first surface (e.g.
sash frame) with liner on and then
firmly pressed down. The protective liner shall be deducted immediately before the second surface
is attached (e.g. glass or insulating
glass, previously cleaned, see
above). It must be ensured that the
tape has full contact with the respective substrate surface. Minimal
pressure evenly applied on whole
bond surface shall be applied in
order to assure optimal adhesion.
Once affixed, the tape shall not be
removed or repositioned. It is
therefore important that the tape is
immediately correctly positioned.
If the component is positioned
incorrectly, the tape shall be removed and disposed. The assembling shall be repeated with new
material after bond faces are
cleaned.
®
Sika Glazing Tape Prefix is compatible with Sikasil SG, WT, WS
and
IG
sealants
and
adhesives. Other sealants must be
compatible, tested and approved
by Sika before using them in
®
combination with Sika Glazing
Tape Prefix.
The tape is suitable for manual and
automated application. For advice
on selecting and setting up a suitable application system please
contact the System Engineering
Department of Sika Industry.
Removal
®
Sika Glazing Tape Prefix may be
removed mechanically.
