The Arts Department: Meet the Team
Eloise Thomas, Arts Administrator
Qualifications: Bachelor of Education (Primary), Advanced Diploma in
Counselling (specialising in relationship counselling, workplace management &
conflict resolution, child development).
I was born in Perth and went to school in Indonesia where I did my International
Baccalaureate at the British International School, then returned to Perth to
attend Murdoch University doing a Bachelor of Education.
I started off my career as a Primary School Teacher in 2003 and after a couple
of years moved in school administration at CBC Fremantle. I remained in
school administration and took on a variety of roles such an enrolment officer,
financial officer, developmental & publications officer during m y years a t the
school. I resigned to concentrate on my family when my son was born sick and
after an emergency operation to save his life, spent the first few weeks of his
life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and continued to have life-threatening
health issues up until four years of age.
The Arts
Meet the Team
My experience with my son inspired me to give parental support in the
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of King Edward Memorial Hospital which led me
to going back to full-time study to become a Counsellor.
I have been working on and off in Events Management with one of WA’s most
respected and renowned Events Coordinators since 2000. I have been involved
in managing events such as Polo in the Valley, King’s Park Fairy Festival,
Truffle Kerfuffle and much others. This brought out my love for entertaining,
coordinating events, catering for food/wine events etc.
The Arts has always been a huge part of my life – I was heavily involved in
school singing, learning the flute and piano, playing lead roles in theatrical
productions, creating visual art murals for our Year 12/13 classroom walls.
Eloise Thomas
Arts Administrator
When St Mark’s advertised my current role, I applied and was thrilled to be
the successful applicant. My role has been constantly evolving and I have
had such an amazing start to my time at St Mark’s – spending my mornings
as administrator for Music in the Music Department and my afternoons at
Jamie’s PA and Administrator for Visual Arts, Media Arts and Drama. I also
assist with school productions, doing hair/make-up/costumes with the talented
Production team, along with managing the bookings/ticketing in the Barbara
Godwin Performing Arts Complex and assisting with catering for special events
for various departments within the School.
I am excited about what 2016 will bring for The Arts Learning Area and feel
fortunate to be a part of such a fantastic team.
