Vorwort
Dieses Buch beinhaltet 22 englische Geschichten, verfasst von den Schülern der
1. Leistungsgruppe Englisch der 4. Klassen der
HS Obdach. Einige dieser Geschichten sind
frei erfunden, andere wiederum orientieren
sich an Filmen oder Büchern. Dies entspricht
auch der Aufgabenstellung, eine Geschichte
im Mindestumfang von 500 Wörtern plus entsprechendem Bildmaterial zu verfassen, ohne
Einschränkung bezüglich Thema oder Inhalt.
Daher finden sich in diesem Storybook die
unterschiedlichsten Themenkreise, die der Altersstufe der Vierzehnjährigen entsprechen.
Meine Absicht war ganz einfach, die Schüler zu
motivieren, sich zusätzlich mit der englischen
Sprache zu beschäftigen. Diese Zielsetzung
stand immer im Vordergrund. Mit Fortdauer
des Projektes wuchsen allmählich auch die
Ziele. Aus dem anfänglichen Plan, eine Textsammlung zu gestalten, wurde bald der Gedanke, diese Texte allen teilnehmenden Schülern zur Verfügung zu stellen, bis schließlich
die Idee eines gemeinsamen Buches geboren
wurde.
Die Aussicht, in einigen Jahren dieses Buch
als Erinnerungsstück an die Hauptschulzeit in
Händen zu halten, schien auch für die Schüler
sehr verlockend zu sein, denn als die ersten
Geschichten bei mir eintrafen, wusste ich, dass
wir mit der Durchführung dieses Projektes
die richtige Entscheidung getroffen hatten.
Nun stellte sich nur noch die Frage der Finanzierung.Wir wandten uns an Firmen, Betriebe
und Gemeinden, um sie als Inserenten zu gewinnen. Auch hier hatten die Schüler großen
Anteil bei der Verteilung unserer Informationen und natürlich bei der hervorragend geleisteten Überzeugungsarbeit. Sehr häufig begann die Englischstunde mit der Frage „Wie
viel Geld haben wir schon? Wer hat bereits
bezahlt?“ Und als wir genügend hatten, konnte uns nichts mehr im Wege stehen.
Ich bedanke mich bei den Inserenten für ihre
Bereitschaft, uns so großzügig zu unterstützen
und es uns damit zu ermöglichen, dieses Buch
in einer höheren Stückzahl aufzulegen.
Mein Dank gilt aber auch den Schülern, die
mit ihren Beiträgen den Beweis erbracht haben, dass sie einsatzfreudig und leistungsbereit sind.
Ein weiteres Dankeschön möchte ich den vielen Helfern sagen, die begleitend an diesem
Projekt mitgearbeitet haben: beginnend bei
der Ideenfindung und -umsetzung über die
Unterstützung in organisatorischen Angelegenheiten, als Korrekturleser, Layoutexperte,
Berater oder Zuhörer etc.

Money isn’t everything

Some years ago there was a man, who lived in New
York. His name was Charlie.
Charlie was a very important person at the stock exchange and he also had a beautiful wife. Her name was
Catherine and they had a daughter, Julie, who was ten
years old.
First they were very happy and a real family. But one day
everything changed.
This day was a real good day at the stock exchange.
Charlie earned a lot of money and he became very rich.
Since this day he had many engagements all over the
world. One of them was in Paris. It was a very good
business.
Charlie flew to France alone. He left his wife and his
daughter alone in New York.
They were very sad about this and thought that Charlie
had become stingy, because he didn’t take them with
him to Paris and he didn’t want to pay them a holiday
trip to Indiana. He said it was too expensive, although
he had enough money. He was just too stingy. When
Charlie came home he was a little bit richer again.
Since that day Catherine and Julie had a rough time.
They had to save money wherever they had a chance
to. They didn’t do it voluntarily, but Charlie constrained
them. He was a terrible father and husband. Charlie
travelled around the whole world. But he never took
Catherine and Julie with him. They were very unhappy
about this and one day Catherine threatened Charlie
to divorce him, but he didn’t let her go. He promised
that everything would become better. He said that he
would take them to Spain, France, Italy and so on. But
he never did.
One day Charlie got another offer. It was in Shanghai.
Again he flew alone to China. During Charlie’s stay in
Shanghai his wife became very sick. When she went to
the hospital the doctor told her that she had cancer.
The cancer was bad and the doctor gave her only three
more months to live. Catherine didn’t tell anybody
about it, neither Julie nor Charlie, who had come back
from China very happily. Now Catherine spent a lot of
time with Julie. She played, learned and went shopping
with her. But in the night when she was alone, she cried
a lot and was very sad. She often thought about death
and what would happen to Julie. “The poor girl!” she
thought.
But one day Catherine had to tell Charlie about the
cancer. Charlie was very shocked and angry with himself, because he had been so unfriendly to his wife. He
wanted to help her, but he couldn’t.
When the three months were over, Catherine had to
go to the hospital. She wasn’t afraid of death any more
and before she died she said to Charlie, that he should
treat their daughter well and begged him not to be so
stingy. She wanted him to spend more time with Julie.
After Catherine’s death Charlie and Julie were very unhappy. Charlie spent most of the time with his daughter
and he wasn’t stingy any more. He felt very bad that he
had been so unfriendly to his wife. So he had an idea to
still his remorse. He spent a large amount of his money
for poor children in Africa.
The snowstorm
It was a cool summer morning. Patrick and his friend
David wanted to go up a mountain.
Outside the house they saw that the weather would be
terrible but they didn’t care about it. At eight o’clock
they drove to the mountain.There they met their friend
George.
He was a very good climber and so the three men started walking. An hour later, they came to a cliff. They had
to climb it, because there was no way around it. So
George showed Patrick and David how to climb. When
they were on top of the cliff, Patrick and David felt
strong. Then they went on. On the top of the mountain
there was a small house. They stayed there overnight.
There were three beds and a small kitchen. The three
men had to sleep in their sleeping bags.
The next day they wanted to go down to the city again,
but they had a problem. A bad snowstorm came nearer,
and so the three men had to find a mountain hut. Half
an hour later they found a hut, but it was very old.
In the hut it was very cold, so Patrick collected wood. It
was very hard to collect wood in the snowstorm.
When he was back in the hut, he made a fire. It was
difficult, because the wood was very wet. But then he
succeeded. Now it got very warm in the hut.
The three men were very tired and so they fell asleep.
The next day was a very beautiful day, because the
snowstorm had stopped. The men wanted to go home,
but they couldn’t, because they were lost. They were
very nervous, for they had no telephone. They began to
think about how they could go down the mountain.
Suddenly they heard a helicopter. They thought they
were found, but it was not so. The helicopter flew away

and the men were very sad. They wrote SOS into the
snow, so that maybe the next helicopter could find them.
Three hours later they heard the next helicopter and
the pilot discovered them, but he couldn’t land because
it was to steep and so he had to fly back to the city.
After a while the men heard snowmobiles. Patrick, David and George shouted, but nobody heard them. They
went towards the snowmobiles, but they only saw the
snowmobiles drive away, because the drivers couldn’t
see them. So they followed the tracks. When the night
came, they had to stop, because it was too dangerous
to go down the mountain in the darkness. So they took
out their sleeping bags and lay down under a tree. The
next day the three men began to follow the tracks again
and suddenly they saw the city, but it was not their
hometown. They went into the city centre and found
out that they were on the other side of the mountain.
So they had to find a telephone to call their families. An
hour later the families of the three men came and took
them home.
At home the three men were very happy. They were
cold and so they took a shower. After the shower they
opened the fridge and ate a lot. And they never went
on a mountain again when the weather looked threatening.
The girl from the moon
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one,
ZERO!!! The space rocket started. Leo felt a strong
air sickness. ” I feel bad’’, he said to his colleagues,
but then they laughed a lot! It was Leo’s first flight. He
looked out of the little window and saw the wonderful
moon and the small earth below him. After a long flight
they landed on the moon.
Johnny told Leo, that they would leave the space rocket
the next day after breakfast. In the evening Leo looked
at the photo of his family. He felt homesick and he had
tears in his eyes, but then he fell asleep.
The next day he got out of the space rocket. He jumped
around on the moon. He could not believe that he
really was on the moon. He said to himself, “The earth
is so small!” His friends also came out of the space
rocket.
They explored the surface of the moon . Then Leo saw
a lake and jumped into it.
And then, on the other side of the lake he saw a girl in a
wonderful dress. She had shining blond hair and a pale
skin. She could breathe without an oxygen mask.
Leo rubbed his eyes. And when he looked there again
the girl was gone.

He couldn`t explain and didn’t know what to think. He
went back to his friends and he told them about the girl,
but they thought that he was crazy.
They went back to the space rocket, because they all
were tired. They went to bed and fell asleep soon. Leo
dreamed about the girl he had seen. The next morning
he went out of the rocket and came to the lake again.
And the beautiful girl was there again on the other side
of the lake. She looked at him and he looked at her. He
waved at her and suddenly the girl stood beside him. He
looked in her eyes, and he saw that they were blue.
He was very sorry that he had to go back to the space
rocket. He got in and then they flew back. They landed
but they didn`t believe the story either. So he promised
to take a photo of the girl on his next flight.
Two years later Leo was on his way to the moon again.
After the landing he got out of the rocket and looked
for the moon girl, but he couldn`t find her. He went
back to the rocket. Suddenly he saw a letter. It was from
the moon girl. He opened it and read that she had travelled to Mars. Leo couldn`t believe it. He put the letter
into his pocket and flew back to the earth. He drove
home to his family and showed them the letter, but they
couldn´t read it. So Leo read it aloud, but his family only
laughed at him. He was very sad, that they didn´t believe
him.

to rack and ruin

One day a baby boy was born. He was just a normal
baby like many others. He cried and needed milk from
his mum. But there were two things different about him.
Number one, his name was Charlie, Charlie Baxter. Nobody knew him but thirty years later the whole world
would talk about him. And number two, his talent for
playing the guitar.
Charlie grew and grew and at the age of ten he had his
first band. He was a genius like Mozart, but he played
rock music.
He was only fifteen, when he earned his first real money
with music. When he was twenty, he got to know a girl
and married her. Her name was Josie. They were made
for each other.They were really crazy people.They lived
together for years and Charlie became more famous
every day.
One day Charlie met two men. One of them called Jeffrey played the drums and the other one, Tony, played
the bass guitar. Jeffrey and Tony were as crazy as Charlie.
They tried to make a band and it went well. They called
their band CJT. They became older and older and every
day more famous. They had really good songs but they
could not really understand that they had become so
famous.
One problem hit this very famous band. Charlie, the
most important man of the band, became a drug and
alcohol addict. They were really sad about it, because
things were going well so far. It was a real shock for his
wife too. He wanted to kill himself but the love for his
wife kept him from doing it.
He lived his life again. And he played concerts with CJT
again. Josie and Charlie had a daughter. But Charlie did
not care about her. One day he had a relapse. It went
down and down for him. He was very sad. One afternoon he came home very late again. Josie shouted with
him and wanted to know where he had been and he
answered, that he wanted a divorce. They began a real
war. Josie threw Charlie out of their house with no money and no shelter.
So Charlie had much time to think about his future
life. He became so depressed that he tried to commit
suicide again. When he was clear in his head again, he
asked his band colleagues of CJT to play with him again.
Charlie wanted to fight against his addiction. He played
concerts with CJT again, but only two, and then he shot
himself. All his people were very sad. At his funeral CJT,
at least Jeffrey the drummer and Tony the bassist, played
many, many CJT songs.
So the legend Charlie Baxter went to rack and ruin.
But something had survived, because Charlie’s daughter
Judy began to play the guitar very well. She played much
better than Charlie and she got more and more famous.
And maybe she will become rich and the most famous
girl of the whole world. And then maybe she will have a
fight with her husband. They will have a divorce and she
will die miserably.
Carola and Lemalian

Carola was a young lady from Switzerland. She and her
boyfriend Stefan stayed in Kenya for two weeks. They
spent wonderful holidays there. The day before they
flew home, they met Lemalian, a Samburu-fighter, who
lived in the bush. It was love at first sight between Carola and Lemalian.
The next day at the check-in at the airport, Carola told
Stefan that she wanted to stay in Kenya. She wanted to
find Lemalian. Stefan was very sad, and he flew back to
Switzerland alone.
Carola started looking for Lemalian. A man sent her to
Elisabeth, who was from Germany. Elisabeth helped Carola, and they became good friends.
Ten days later Carola found Lemalian and went into the
bush with him. They were very happy. They spoke English, but Carola didn’t understand the other people.
Living in the bush was a strange feeling for her, but the
people were very friendly. Carola loved Lemalian a lot
and they wanted to marry, but first Carola had to fly to
Switzerland to dissolve her bride shop.
Stefan had got to know another girlfriend in the meantime. Carola’s family was quite unhappy, that she wanted
to stay in Kenya, but they couldn’t hold her back.
She had a white wedding dress, and all the women envied her.
After some time Carola noticed that life in Africa was
quite different from life in Europe, and she had to learn
some lessons.
When she expected a baby, they were very happy. She
had a grocer’s shop in the bush. Lemalian helped her
with the shop.
But now and then she was very unhappy, because Lemalian suspected her of meeting with some other men,
which wasn’t true at all. She only loved Lemalian, and
no one else.
Once he said that Sara, their baby, was not his. Carola
was sad, and she had nobody to talk to because her
friend Elisabeth didn’t live there anymore. She and her
husband had moved to another city. So Carola had no
friends.
One day after a quarrel Lemalian hit Carola, but they
managed to make up again. A few days later there was a
big quarrel again: Lemalian had given the grocery away
to the people in the village, so Carola and Lemalian
didn’t have enough money. He persuaded Carola to go
to the bank and get money from Switzerland. She was
very angry and sad.
From day to day she got more and more unhappy with
her life with Lemalian. She often thought about returning home to Switzerland to her family. She told Lemalian that she wanted to enjoy holidays with her family, because her parents would like to see Sara, their
granddaughter. Carola needed Lemalian’s signature for
the journey to Switzerland. Although he was sure that
Carola and Sara would never come back to him, he signed the paper. It took a load off Carola’s mind.
From now on she lived with Sara in Switzerland. Fourteen years later she decided to visit Lemalian and his
tribe. He was very happy about her visit and they became friends again. After two nice weeks Carola and Sara
returned home to Europe.
A trip to the jungle
One day the student Jeffrey Zimmerman received a
letter from Phillipp’s shops. He opened the letter and
read:
Congratulations! You are the winner of our game. Your
prize is a trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for three weeks.
Please send us an answer.
“Yeah! A trip to Rio de Janeiro. I had forgotten, that I
had played this game. I‘m so happy.”
Three weeks later Mr. Zimmerman sat in a plane to Rio
de Janeiro. After a long flight the plane landed well. He
and the other travellers went to their hotel by bus. The
plan for the next days was a sightseeing tour through
Rio de Janeiro. But Mr. Zimmerman thought, it was going
to be boring.
So he rented a jeep and went out of the city. Six days
later he was in the wilderness. He parked his jeep on a
hill. He took out his important things and put them in
a bag. He wanted to go for a walk. After some steps he
heard a strange noise. He turned around and saw that
his car was rolling down the hill. ”Oh no!” he shouted,
“I have forgotten to pull the hand brake. And my mobile

phone is in the car. What shall I do now ? What shall I
do? I’m more than 60 miles away from the next village.
It would be the best to walk back there.”
So Jeffrey started to walk towards the village. He walked for four hours until it was evening. Jeffrey was in
a big forest. He built a little camp and lay down. Next
morning Jeffrey didn’t know in which direction he had
to go. So he started to walk anywhere. He had nothing
to eat and he was very hungry. And he was thirsty too,
because he didn’t know which water he could drink. So
he lay down in the forest. He thought, ”I think I’m going
to die.”
Then he fell asleep. When he woke up a man stood in
front of him. “Why are you lying in the woods?” he asked. But Jeffrey couldn’t give an answer. He only could
say, “Have you got anything to drink and anything to
eat?” The man gave Jeffrey something to ea and drink.
Jeffrey became strong again.
He told the Indian man, whose name was Maicuru, his
story, how he had come into the wilderness. Maicuru
offered to bring Jeffrey back and he accepted gratefully. Next morning Jeffrey was strong enough to start
walking. He and Maicuru went for six hours. Then they
were very tired, because they had to climb over fallen
trees and cut a way where they could go. First they built
a camp. Then they collected wood for a little campfire.
When Jeffrey wanted to pick up a branch Maicuru looked at him. In the next moment he shouted, “Watch
out!” Scared by this warning Jeffrey threw his piece of
wood to the ground. There he could see that it was a
snake. “Thank you” he said, “what would I do without
you?” They made a campfire, ate something for supper,
and went to bed. Jeffrey and Maicuru went through the
jungle for two days.
On the fourth day Maicuru said, “In the evening we will

be in the village.” So they started walking again. But
half an hour later it began to rain heavily. So they stayed
under a big tree. Two hours later it stopped raining.
They started to walk again. But then they saw that there
had been a landslide. Maicuru said, ”We can’t get over
this landslide. We have to stay here overnight.” So they
collected some fruit for supper. Suddenly they heard a
strange noise.
Maicuru shouted, “Watch out! There is a jaguar. Stay
calm! Don’t move!” But both of them had luck. The jaguar went away.
In the afternoon they reached the village. Jeffrey thanked Maicuru a lot and told him to wait there. He wanted to give him something which he could use in the
jungle. But when he came back and wanted to give the
present to him, Maicuru wasn’t there. He had gone back
into the jungle. “He is a real hero”, Jeffrey thought.

Jimmy, the crocodile

Jimmy was a little crocodile. At the zoo he was a superstar, because he could hop on one leg. “Wow! Fantastic!” shouted the crowd. When Jack the zoo-keeper
switched the radio on, Jimmy danced to the music.
“Wow! Fantastic!” all the people shouted then.
One evening Jimmy and Jack sat together on a bench.
“Where do you live, Jack?” Jimmy asked, “do you live
at the zoo?” “No,” said Jack. “I live far away from here.”
“Where is your house?” Jimmy asked. “It’s too far to
walk,” said Jack. “I have to go by underground train.”
“By underground train? What is that?” Jimmy asked.
“It’s a train that goes under the ground,” Jack said.
“Cool!” said Jimmy, “I want to see the underground
train! I want to go to your house by underground train.”
“No,” said Jack, “crocodiles must stay at the zoo, even
clever crocodiles .” “Please,” Jimmy begged, “why can’t
I come with you?” “People are afraid of crocodiles.”
“Nonsense!” Jimmy answered, “they like me!” “Sorry,
Jimmy,” Jack said, “I must go home now. Good bye, Jimmy!” Jack left.
Suddenly Jack noticed that he had forgotten his bag.
“Oh no!” Jack thought, “I have forgotten my bag.” He
went back to get his bag. Jimmy saw that and escaped
through the open door. Jack went home and the crocodile followed him.
Jack didn’t see
Jimmy, but he was
walking too fast.
After some time
Jimmy had lost
him.
“Oh dear!” Jimmy
thought, “where’s
Jack?” He couldn’t
see his friend any
more.“What can I
do now? Hmm…
the train!” he
thought. “Where
is the underground train?” He saw a man coming down
the street.“Excuse me, where’s the underground train?”
Jimmy asked in a polite way.
“HELP!” the man screamed. “IT’S A CROCODILE!” He
ran away. “HELP, HELP!” an old lady screamed. Jimmy
was surprised. “It is me, Jimmy!” he said. “I am the star
from the zoo!”
But nobody listened to him. They all screamed loudly,
“HELP! A CROCODILE!” and ran away. “Wait! Where’s

the train? Wait, please!” Jimmy shouted.
“At the zoo people are friendly. They like me,” he
thought, “oh, Jack, where are you? Where’s the train?”
Suddenly he heard a “Miaow!” It was a black cat. “Oh
no! This means bad luck,” Jimmy thought.The cat looked
at Jimmy. “Miaow, go away, little crocodile,” said the cat.
“I’m Blacky.This is my place!” “Oh please, tell me, where
is the underground train?” Jimmy asked. “No train here.
Go back to the zoo,” said Blacky. Jimmy asked, “How do
you know that I live at the zoo?” “Everyone knows that
crocodiles live at zoos. “Just come with me, little crocodile,” said Blacky, “I will take you back to the zoo.”
“But …,” said Jimmy, “I don’t want to go to the zoo!”
But Blacky took Jimmy to the zoo. It was already dark.
“Here’s the zoo,” said the cat. “But the door is closed,”
Jimmy said, “I can’t go in. I must wait outside for Jack.”
Blacky laughed.“See you, little crocodile, good night.” So
Jimmy spent the night in front of the door.
In the morning he woke up.When Jack came he opened
the door to the zoo. “Hello, Jack!” said Jimmy. “Good
morning!” “Jimmy ? What…? Why…? How…?” Jack
was very surprised. “Jack, where’s the underground
train?” asked Jimmy. “I want to see the train!”
“What train? Oh no, Jimmy ! We can’t go to the train,
Jimmy!” he said. “Please, Jack! I want to see the train!”
Jimmy shouted. “Be quiet!” Jack said. “We can’t go!” But
Jimmy wanted to see the underground train!
“JACK! WHERE’S THE TRAIN?” “Be quiet, Jimmy,” Jack
said. “The people must not hear you.” The two friends
went into the zoo. “But where is the train? I must see
it.” “Jimmy, you can see the underground train soon!”
“Soon, Jack?” “Very soon, Jimmy” “Cool!” Jimmy shouted and was the happiest crocodile all over the world.
Scorching weather

Under the hot sun the trees and hillsides were turning brown. The TV news had announced that it should
get very hot and the scientists were concerned. They
thought this heat wave was probably a consequence of
the climate change.
On this hot day Tom was going for a ride with his bike in
the countryside. It was very nice and peaceful. Suddenly
the sound of a siren interrupted the silence, because a
forest fire had broken out. Tom suddenly felt very anxious.
He thought of his friend Lila, the fox. He hoped with all
his heart that she hadn´t been trapped by the flames.
So he hurried back to the forest to some firemen. Tom
covered his mouth with his T-shirt. Then he shouted,
“Lila, where are you!!!” At that moment Lila the fox
came running up to him.
Lila still looked terrified. She grabbed the leg of one of
the firemen whose name was Max. And they knew that
Lila wanted to tell them something. She seemed to say,
“Come with me! Follow me!” Then she quickly ran towards the blazing fire. Max followed her.
getting warmer and so heat waves, storms, floods and
other natural disasters were caused. And he explained
Tom that some islands and coastal regions would disappear under the water. Tom also asked why all this was
happening. The fireman said it was because of the exhaust fumes of cars, planes and factories.
Then they had reached the spring and started pumping.
They had enough water to put the fire out. When they
went back, the fireman explained to Tom what people
could do to stop the climate change. Just then Max and
Lila came back from the burning wood. Max had four
little fox cubs in his hands and said, “That´s what Lila
wanted to tell us.”
Suddenly a flash light interrupted his words. It was a
photographer. The mayor of the city had come, because
he wanted to give Tom three medals for his help, but
Tom did not want the medals. He wanted to give them
to people who are trying to save the earth, because
these people are the real heroes.
The mayor smiled at Tom and said, “That´s a great idea!
I am going to take care of it.”
The fire was extinguished. In the morning the photos
were in all the newspapers. There was the mayor, the
firemen, Max and Tom. But everyone´s favourite picture
was of Lila, feeding her four little cubs. They were all
alive and safe
They did not have enough water. Tom had an idea. He
knew where a spring was. The firemen smiled. When
they ran to the water Tom asked one of the firemen
why the weather was so hot.
One fireman explained him that the atmosphere was

Peter’s Revenge

It is Saturday evening and the streetlights have just been
switched on. It is very calm, there’s just a man who is
slowly going along the street. With every step he comes a little bit nearer to the house at the end of the
street. In his arms he holds an axe. The name of this
guy is Peter, but nobody calls him Peter. Everybody calls
him “The stranger“. It was more than twenty years ago
that somebody called him Peter. It was the director of
the madhouse. Even the new director called him “Mr.
Stranger”, when he released him. But some day all of
Europe will know his name. “Peter Brown”, he whispered with a bad smile.
He was once the most famous American in Birmingham.
He was rich, lived in a villa and had a beautiful wife. But
Sergio, Peter’s best friend fell in love with his wife Becky.
When Becky told Peter, that she wanted to live with
Sergio and that she wanted to be divorced, Peter went
crazy. She took him to the madhouse and withdrew
their money from his account. After nine weeks in the
madhouse, he read in the newspaper that Becky had
died. He was very sad about this and wanted revenge,
because he knew who the murderer was. It was Sergio.
The murder happened only twelve days after Sergio’s
and Rebecca’s wedding and Sergio had said some years
before that he would commit a murder in order to be
rich. Now Peter can avenge Becky’s death. And he is
sure that he will.
Now he is standing in front of his former villa. He loves
his villa, but now Sergio is living in it. But Peter has a plan
to change all this. He doesn’t want to see Sergio just

dying. He wants to see him suffering. He wants to see
him begging for his life and then he is going to kill him.
When Sergio is dead he wants to write with Sergio’s
blood in big letters on the floor:
This is Peter Brown’s revenge. Then he wants to
kill himself. He knocks at the door. After some seconds
Sergio opens the door.
Immediately he closes the door again and locks it. With
a big grin Peter goes to the window to see what Sergio is doing. He thought Sergio would look for a hiding
place or a way out but he didn’t think he would call
the police. So Peter immediately runs back to the door
straight away. After three strong punches with his axe
he can get through the door. Sergio drops his mobile
phone and runs upstairs.
“Now he is in a trap”,
Peter thinks and goes
upstairs too. Suddenly
he thinks of the window in the loft. He
runs to the loft.When
he reaches it he sees
that Sergio is trying
to open the window,
but it is stuck. Peter
lifts his axe in the air,
but then he hears
five, maybe six shots.
He falls on his knees,
because a bullet has
hit him. In a mirror he can see two policemen with their
guns in their hands. He looks at Sergio. He was dead.
A bullet has hit his head. “So justice has won”, Peter
thinks, before he dies.
“Teenagers’ lives”

On a wonderful morning Susan was on her way to
school, when she saw a big black car rolling along the
street. It looked like a film star’s car. Her heart began
to jump. She often dreamed about seeing a real star,
and now it seemed to come true. She followed the car
to a small forest, ten or fifteen minutes away from the
village.Then it got slower and stopped in front of a little
house near a lake. Susan had never seen that house before. So she phoned her girlfriend and told her that she
could not come to school because she had a cold.
She hid behind a bush and watched the situation. Two
men with dark suits got out and opened the back door
of the car. Susan was right. Tom Turner, the famous film
star came out and went into the house. Susan was very
excited and nervous. She could not believe her eyes. It
was Tom Turner.
the high school again and wanted to get some informations about teenagers` lives nowadays, because he was
making a film about that. Susan had to spend a week
with Tom Turner and tell him all the things that she had
to do during a day at school and at home.
But there was one problem: Nobody should know
about that and Susan could not tell her friends. On the
following day, the limousine stopped in front of Susan’s
house. When she got in, Tom was close to her, but he
didn’t wear his black clothes. He wore jeans and a white
T-shirt. In the school no one looked at him, because
new students were not very interesting.
His manager had given him the new name Daniel Parker,
because nobody should find out that Tom Turner was at
their school. Some boys took his car into a field near
the school and made a lot of tricks with it. On Tuesday
they had Maths and one of the girls saw Tom’s tiger tattoo on his left arm and she found out that he was Tom
Turner. All of them followed Susan and him immediately.
So both jumped into the limousine, which had parked
behind the school and they drove away. Near the house
in the forest they got out and ran into it. Tom switched
the radio on and there was a report about him. When
it was dark Susan went home.
The next days were very hard for her. A lot of interviewers and camera teams were waiting in front of her
house. They had a lot of questions and she was in the
newspapers every day.
From one day to the next Susan had become very famous and popular and everybody knew her name.
When she went shopping, all the people looked at her.
She had a lot of new friends, because she was the most
famous girl in the school.
A year later, a new film came to the cinemas.The title of
that film was “Teenagers´ Lives”. In the leading part there was Tom Turner, as Daniel Parker and his wife Yvonne
Lang, who was as famous and rich as Tom. She played
Susan’s part in the film. Susan watched the film very
proudly and her friends envied her a lot.
The next day, Susan went to the house again, but one of
the bodyguards saw her. He took Susan into the house
and told Tom the story. Tom phoned his manager, who
had an idea.
Next morning at school the headmaster called Susan
to his office. Tom was in the village, because he came to

A man named Tom lived happily with his whole family in
New York. He worked for a postal service. It was one
week before Christmas and he was very happy, because
things were running well. But before he had holidays, he
had to do a last job. He had to go to another country
by plane with a special parcel. So shortly before Christmas he left his family. But during the flight across the
sea there was a very heavy thunderstorm and the plane
crashed into the sea and all the passengers died.
Only Tom survived the crash. He was unconscious and
when he woke up again, he was on an island. He saw
lots of sand, big trees and a big mountain.
He was very depressed about his situation. First he built
a little shelter to sleep in and he did some other important work. Then he collected wood, so he could make
fire. But making fire wasn’t too easy. And he made a
spear for catching something to eat like fish or other
animals.
Sometimes he found pieces from the plane crash on the
island, which were very helpful for him.
One day he climbed onto the big mountain, where he
discovered a cave. There he could live much better.
When he was on top of the mountain he could see
the whole island and most of the sea. Suddenly he saw
a body swimming in the water. He ran down as fast
as he could and jumped into the water. It was a dead
man. He brought the corpse to the island. On the island
he buried the dead man.
Every day he became better at catching fish. One day
he saw a ship far across the sea, but they couldn’t see

him. After three years on the island he began to build a
little boat. One evening he found a ball, which became
his best friend.
From day to day he caught fish and he worked at his
boat. It was a very good boat and soon it would be
ready to sail away. Sometimes he made paintings of his
wife and his kids in the cave. When he thought of them
he became very sad and he often couldn’t keep from
crying.
One day, when he swam in the sea a big wave surprised him and he hurt his leg at a rock, but it wasn’t too
painful.
Finally the boat was ready to launch. So he started the
boat trip with his friend, the volleyball.
But near the island there were huge waves. This was no
problem for Tom. He sailed across the sea by day and
night with his volleyball. Once he came into a heavy
storm and the boat was destroyed and the volleyball
drifted away. He just had a plank, which saved his life,
but after some hours he was so exhausted, that he fell
asleep.When he woke up many hours later he was on a
big ship, which took him back home. So he never had to
catch fish or other sea animals anymore.
But on the ship he got a message that his wife had
married another man in the meantime. When he came
to New York he was famous and everybody knew his
name. He had to tell his story on TV many times and
he worked again at the same postal service. He often
visited his kids and he began to live his normal life just
like before.
Exciting holidays

Mr. Smith was a 64-year-old grandfather of seven grandchildren. Every year he spent his holidays with his
grandchildren and their mothers at the lake of Klopein
in Carinthia for one week.The weeks were usually alike.
They went swimming, played tennis and so on, but this
year it was different.
On the 24th of July the children and their mothers came
to Mr. Smith’s house to start their holiday trip. They all
were very happy and excited, because they were looking forward to having some nice days. After they had
finished all the preparations, they left their hometown
to go to their hotel in Klopein.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t so good, but the
children didn’t care about it, because there was an indoor swimming pool in the hotel.The first day was very
relaxing for Mr. Smith and the mothers.They had lots of
time for each other and the children had a lot of fun.
But on the second day something strange happened: In
the morning everything was still okay. The whole family
had breakfast and then they went to the beach.
The children went swimming and played games, but after a while they got curious, because some lifeboats
and boats from the coast guard came to the pier. The
children had no idea, what this meant. After some time
the boats left the pier again and the children continued
playing, but there was still a strange atmosphere.
Some people on the promenade were talking about an
old man, who was missing, but nobody thought about
a case of death. At that moment there was a wail of
sirens, and a few minutes later the fire brigade and a lot
of lifeboats arrived at the beach. The people were very
curious and watched this unusual situation.
Of course, all the children ran to the fire brigade and
asked the firemen what had happened, but they didn’t
get an answer. Some firemen wore special diving suits,
so the children guessed, that the firemen were searching the lake for the old man who was missing. The
men worked very hard for some hours, but they had no
success and so they went back to the coast.
Nobody was allowed to go swimming and everyone
was nervous, because they didn’t know what really had
happened. After a meeting of the rescue teams some
divers went into the water again. They had a rope and
searched the swimming area. After a few minutes there
was quite a murmur in the crowd, because the firemen
heaved a corpse out of the water. They had found the
old missing man under a staircase to the lake.
Suddenly there was a bad smell in the air and some
people felt sick. The firemen covered the dead man and
laid him into a coffin.
Afterwards some men put the coffin into a car and drove away. It was said that the cause of death had been a
heart attack.
Mr. Smith and his family didn’t want to go swimming in
the lake anymore, so they only used the indoor swimming pool of the hotel.
(This story is based on a true incident, which had happened in the summer of 2006 to Reinhard Pabst and
his family.)

THE PLANE CRASH

Once upon a time there was a young boy called Jim.
He was eighteen years old and lived with his parents in
London. His father was a business man and his mother
was a model, so they were very busy and had no time
for him. Jim always was very lonely. One day he said to
himself, ”I don’t want to be alone all the time! I want to
go to Africa to visit my uncle.”
So he packed his baggage, stole his father’s credit card
and wrote a short message to his parents. He went to
the airport and checked in to a flight to Namibia. He
was lucky, because he had to wait only a few minutes
until the speaker announced his flight. Jim passed the
controls and went on board with a strange feeling. The
stewardess showed him to his seat next to the window
and said, “Have a good flight!” Jim fastened his seatbelt
and looked out of the window as the plane started. He
was fascinated, but after some time he got tired and fell
asleep.
Suddenly he woke up, because he heard a very loud
bang and crying people. “Keep calm!” the captain said
over the loudspeaker, but when the fire broke out people got in panic. Some people used their mobile phones
to call for help, some prayed and some fainted.
Suddenly there was a big explosion and then it got completely dark.
When Jim opened his eyes again his whole body hurt.
He wanted to stand up, but he couldn’t. After a few
minutes he heard some strange voices. He saw strange
people with colours and rings on their faces.They were
dancing around him.
Jim thought he had to die and he closed his eyes again.
He slept for three days and nights and when he woke up
again he didn’t feel any pain. He didn’t understand the
strange people and he didn’t know where they came
from, but they were very friendly and helped him. They
brought him food and water. He didn’t know what kind
of food it was, but he was so hungry that he ate it.
He was very sad, because he missed his parents so
much. He didn’t know what day it was or how long he

had been there and how he could get home, so he had
to stay with the strange people. They showed him how
to hunt and a lot of other things needed to survive in
the wilderness.
One day Jim heard a familiar sound in the air. “A plane, a plane!” he cried and he started to wave his arms,
but the plane was too far away. Jim was very sad. He
thought of his parents and wondered if they were still
searching for him.
He could not forget his parents and his home and so he
decided to go away. He thanked the people for everything they had done for him and began his journey. He
went through the wilderness for three days and nights
and sometimes he got very afraid when he saw big wild
animals. On the fourth day he came to a lake and wanted to drink, but when he put his hands into the water
a crocodile jumped at him.
In the nick of time he could get away. He wanted to
run away, but he couldn’t, because a big rhinoceros was
standing in front of him.
Then he heard a shot and the rhino fell down.
A hunter had shot the big animal and saved Jim’s life.
The hunter brought him to his farm and there they called Jim’s parents. They were very happy and surprised,
because they had thought their son was dead. Two days
later Jim returned home and lived happily with his parents.
The mysterious voice

Jack, a ten-year-old boy, lived with his mum in a small
village near Liverpool. One day Jack’s grandfather had
his eightieth birthday. So Jack and his mum travelled to
his grandfather, who lived in an old castle near Belfast.
When they reached Belfast, he welcomed them and
they had a lot of fun at the party.
At midnight grandfather showed them to their sleeping
rooms. Jack lay in his bed uneasily. Suddenly he heard a
strange voice. He thought it was his grandfather, who
was talking with his mum in the living room below his
room and so he fell asleep. But he did not know that
everybody in the castle was fast asleep.
Next morning Jack went to a park in Belfast with his
mum. On the way to the park he had a feeling that
the voice from the night before had not come from his
mum or grandfather, because his mum told him that
they had been at the other side of the huge castle.
When they came back home, Jack asked his grandfather
whether he could change the bedrooms with his grandfather or his mum. When the night came and they had
eaten their dinner everybody went to bed. At the other
side of the castle where Jack now lay, he could not hear
anything. So he soon began to sleep.
But suddenly at midnight he heard the strange voice
again. He stood up and followed the voice down into
the cellar, but he could not find anything. So he went
back to his bed.
Next morning Jack asked his grandfather again whether
he had heard anything in the castle. His grandfather told
him, that he should go down into the cellar. Jack did
not know what this meant because he had been in the
cellar at midnight and had not found anything. So he
went down to the cellar once more. There he saw a lot
of old things and lots of spiders and rats. But behind a
bookshelf he found an old door. He opened the door
carefully, but all he could see were lots of old books
and lots of spiders’ webs. And that did not help him
very much.
Suddenly he saw a pipe with a hole. And inside the pipe
he heard the strange voice again.
Jack went out of the cellar immediately. He wanted to
look for his grandfather. He found him in the library, and
he asked him whether he knew anything about the pipe
in the cellar. Grandfather told Jack that he should go to
his bedroom. He did what his grandfather had told him
and went there. He searched the room, but he could
not find anything. He asked his mother to help him.
And then he found the pipe above his bed behind a picture. He put the picture away and found the end of the
pipe. He took a torch. Inside the pipe, he saw a little cat,
which ran around there by night, because it could get
down into the cellar to look for some food there.
Later Jack went to
bed and fell asleep.
He heard the voice
again, but now he
knew where it came
from and what it
was. At the end of
the week Jack and
his mother travelled back home and
there he told everybody about his experiences in
his
grandfather’s castle.

Unexpected reunion

The Millers were a happy family. But then they went
through the most terrible holidays of their lives. When
they arrived at Rio de Janeiro the weather was wonderful. They went to their hotel by taxi and unpacked their
suitcases. Sandra, the twelve year old daughter, switched
on the TV to watch the weather report. The reporter
said that a storm would come and that maybe a high
tidal wave would follow. First the Millers thought about
flying home again, but then they finally stayed there. In
the night Sandra could not sleep because the wind was
so strong. The next day they wanted to go to the Sugar
Loaf Mountain, but they couldn’t go there, because the
wind was too strong. So they had to stay at the hotel all
day. They went swimming in the indoor pool and played
tennis, but only at the hotel tennis courts.
In the report they said that the storm would reach a
speed of 150 kilometres per hour. So they announced a
storm warning.All the people had to stay in their houses.
During the next days the storm became stronger and
stronger.There were wind speeds about 200 kilometres
per hour. The people were afraid. Would they survive?

Next morning, Sandra’s father Andrew looked out of
the window and he couldn’t believe his eyes. All the
wonderful plants and trees were gone.
On Tuesday, the 31st of August , a huge tsunami surprised them. When they saw that huge tsunami, they wanted to run away, but many people were killed. Sandra
Miller and her mother survived, but Andrew Miller was
missing. The tsunami had swept away all the cars, plants,
houses, desks, chairs and so on. Sandra couldn’t believe
her eyes.
In the next days everybody had to help the rescue
teams. They found many corpses and parts of bodies.
Some missing persons could be found again after a couple of days, but many of them were still missing.
A week later Sandra and her mother Julie flew back
home to Australia. There they did their work and
Sandra went to school again. But one day, on the 29th
of September, they got a telephone call. It was from the
foreign ministry. They told them that Mr. Andrew Miller was not dead. Sandra and Julie couldn’t believe that.
Workers had found him under parts of houses. They
flew to Rio de Janeiro immediately to meet Andrew.
When they arrived at the airport they went to a hotel
in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, because in the city
centre all the hotels had been destroyed. They drove
to the foreign ministry and there a man told Julie that
Andrew lived in a small flat in Mac-Street.The man gave
them Andrew’s address and Julie and Sandra drove to
his flat. Sandra knocked at the door. Andrew opened it
and when he saw them he couldn’t hold back the tears.
He hugged his wife and his daughter warmly. They all
started crying because they were so happy. Next day
they flew back to Australia. And there they had to tell
their story many, many times.
A camping adventure

One summer Jane and John went camping with their
class for three days. The campsite was near a forest.
Jane and John had heard that terrible things happened
in the forest.
The two teachers and the children were sitting around
a campfire in the evening. The teachers told their pupils
very horrible stories, but John and Max told Jane and
Julia, that they were not scared.
So the four of them made a bet: they agreed to go into
the forest by night. Before they started Jane put some
food, a rope and a lot of apples into her bag. Then at
nightfall they were on their way with a torch in their
hands. They went along a small and very old path.
Sarah, a classmate, had heard about their plans, and she
followed them secretly.
Half an hour later John was very hungry, and they sat
down on a big stone and ate something. When Jane
heard a terrible voice, she told her friends about it, but
they didn’t believe her. But some minutes later they all
heard the voice again and suddenly a fox jumped out of
behind a bush. The children ran away. They ran so fast,
that Jane fell down and was dirty all over. They quickly
helped her up again, because the fox came closer and
they were very frightened. They wanted to run back to
the camp, but there was a problem. They did not know
the way, and they did not know, what to do, because the
fox was behind them. Then they had an idea. They took
out the apples and threw them at the fox.
They decided to stay in the forest for the night. It was
very cold so John and Max looked for some wood, because they wanted to make a campfire. In the meantime
Jane and Julia waited for them. Julia was worried about
the boys, because she liked John very much. Jane found
out that she had lost her expensive bracelet, which she
had got on her birthday from her mother.
Suddenly the girls heard a loud cry and started looking
for the boys, but they only found Max. He told them
that John had fallen down into a pit and that he didn’t
answer. Julia was very desperate. They thought about
a solution and Jane had an idea. She had a rope with
her, so she took it out of the bag and attached it to a
tree trunk. Max climbed down to John, and he saw that
John was bleeding on his head. He tied the rope around
John’s body and then they pulled him out of the pit.
Suddenly they heard a noise behind a bush. They were
scared and Max looked behind the bush. There was Sarah! Jane, Julia and Max were very angry that Sarah had
followed them, because they had to take care of John.
After a while Julia found Jane’s bracelet on the ground.
They were very happy about it, because now they knew
that they were on the right way back to the camp.
When they came there, they told their teachers what
had happened, and they called the ambulance immediately. John was taken to a hospital. Jane, Julia and Max
had to leave the camp, and they promised never to bet
again.
In the end John got well again. Julia told him about her
feelings and they fell in love!

Buried alive

One day Joe and Alex flew to Sun Peaks in the Rocky Mountains.The two guys were from Styria and they
wanted to spend their skiing holidays in the United
States. They wanted to go heliskiing and so they had to
do a lot of fitness training before they could start. They
trained in a fitness centre every day, because you have
to be in a good shape for an adventure like this.
Three weeks later the two men were ready. On a sunny
day they flew up to the top of a mountain by helicopter.
It was ten o’clock when they started. The weather was
good, and the snow was good, too. Suddenly Joe saw
a big black cloud coming. Ten minutes later they were
in the middle of a heavy snowstorm. They knew that
they had to ski down into the valley immediately. But on
their way down, Alex came into an avalanche and was
buried in a crevasse with a broken leg.
Joe was looking for his friend for half an hour, but he
couldn’t find him. So he went downhill as fast as he
could to alarm the mountain rescue team.
He called the helicopter pilot, but he said that they
couldn’t start because of the bad weather. They had to
wait until the next morning.
So Alex had to spend that night alone in the mountains.
It was dark and very cold. But then he heard a noise
above the snow, and suddenly there was a black shape
in front of him. There was a huge creature that helped
him out of the crevasse, grabbed him and walked with
him to a small hut. In the hut Alex saw that it was Bigfoot.
Next morning the helicopter was ready to start. When
the rescue team came to the place where the accident
had happened, they couldn’t find Alex, but they saw enormous footprints. They followed the footprints and
came to a mountain hut where they found Alex. They
asked him who had brought him there and Alex told

them about Bigfoot.
Then they took him into the hospital.The next day when
he read the newspaper, Alex saw an article about him. It
said: “Yesterday there was an accident in the mountains.
An Austrian was buried in a crevasse with a broken leg.
He reported that Bigfoot had helped him out and taken
him to a mountain hut.”
Lots of scientists read that newspaper article and at
once they started to search for Bigfoot. A great number of them walked up into the mountains to find this
mysterious creature. Three days later Alex listened to a
radio magazine and heard that Bigfoot had been found
and taken to a zoo. The scientists wanted to experiment with Bigfoot.
Alex got very angry.When he left the hospital, he drove
to the zoo and demanded that they should set Bigfoot
free again. And finally, after long hours of discussions,
the scientists gave in and brought Bigfoot back into the
mountains.

Emily was a small girl with black eyes and lips and always
dressed in black. She didn’t like white or other colours.
Each day in her life looked like the day before. She got
up at six o’clock, went to school, came home and went
to bed after dinner. That was Emily’s everyday life. She
wasn’t happy and she wasn’t sad. She wasn’t anything.
you. I won’t become like you anyway. I hope for you
it isn’t an attempt. Okay? ”Emily’s mother answered a
little bit nervous, “Yes, okay!”
But Emily’s mother didn’t listen to her daughter. She just
thought, “An attempt is worth it! But I hope that I won’t
hurt her.” The weekend was there. So they packed their
stuff for the camping tour and drove to the place.
On Saturday evening they were looking for some wood.
They went far away from the campsite and didn’t find
their way back after ten minutes. Emily and her mother stayed overnight under a big tree. But they couldn’t
sleep because there were wild foxes and bears that
could kill them.
At six o’clock in the morning a man came there and
found them. He brought Emily and her mother back to
the camp and they packed their stuff and drove home.
At home Emily said to her mum, “It was a horrifying
weekend but I am happy about the experiences on that
camping trip with you.”
Emily’s mother wondered about that and said, “Now I
can see more in your eyes than before!” And Emily said,
“But I am going to dress like I did before, because that is
my style. Please accept, because this is really important
for me!
And of course her mother agreed.
That weekend was very important for Emily and her
mum, because they got closer to each other!
One day Emily’s mother asked, “Why are you always in
black? You always were such a nice girl when you were
younger! Are you sad about anything? You know that
you always used to ask me when you needed help.”
Emily answered, “What do you see in my eyes?” Emily’s
mother said, “Nothing. I don’t see anything.” So Emily said, “You see nothing. You are right because I don’t
see anything, either. I don’t feel anything and I don’t like
anything and I hardly ever say anything. I am a pessimist!
I only would say something if I felt anything but it isn’t
so!”
These words made Emily’s mother think about many
things. She had to do something, because she couldn’t
see her daughter go on like this. She thought and thought
and thought. Suddenly she had an idea how she could
cheer up Emily: a camping trip at the weekend.
She told her daughter about it. After twenty minutes
she had persuaded her and finally they went on a camping trip to a campsite, only two miles away from home.
Emily only said, “I don’t care, it’s all the same to me. But
please don’t change my style. You can’t change me into

team of the Newton High School. He was the most
popular boy of his school.
sure. During the lesson he compared Nicole with the
photo on his mobile phone.Yes, it was Nicole!
In the break Roy asked her why she was there. But Ashley had seen it and she was very jealous. And there was
Bryan. He was new, too. He was a good-looking boy, but
Ashley only had eyes for Roy. A month later there was
a graduation ball. Roy helped with the organization. He
asked Nicole to go with him to the ball and Bryan asked
Ashley, but she wanted to go with Roy.
The evening came and Roy waited for Nicole in front of
her house. She looked brilliant in her evening dress.The
evening was fantastic, too. Both of them were dancing
all the time and laughed a lot. Bryan wanted to dance
with Ashley, but she was insulted, because Roy was very
unfriendly.
One day he was at a Christmas party. The presenter
was looking for a girl and a boy, because he needed
them for his karaoke duet. He made his choice: Roy and
Nicole, a girl, that was new in the town. Roy began to
sing and Nicole sang with him.
Both of them had a lot of fun all evening long. At midnight there was a big firework and Roy wanted to go
outside with Nicole, but she had disappeared. Roy was
very sad, because he didn’t have anything from her: not
her mobile phone number and not her address. When
the party was over, he went home sadly.
After the Christmas holidays he had to go back to
school, where he met Ashley. She was in love with Roy,
but Roy not with her, because she was a super show-off.
When Roy shook hands with his best friend, he could
not believe his eyes:There was Nicole! But Roy was not

The next day the class had an excursion to a company,
which produced eyeglasses. A machine punched a nail
into the glasses. Ashley was very curious, because the
company made fashion sunglasses. She wanted to touch
the glass, but the machine was not turned off, so the
nail got stuck in her hand. The boss wanted to stop the
machine, but he could not. Nicole saw an emergency
button and pushed it. The machine stopped. Nicole called the emergency number.
The ambulance took Ashley to the hospital. Nicole visited Ashley every day there. She read out stories from a
book, watched TV or played with her. Everything turned
out well. They spent a lot of time together. Nicole and
Ashley went shopping and swimming and walking to the
cinema with their boyfriends Roy and Bryan.They became the best of friends!!!
A magical dog

A long time ago, there was a dog called Billy. He was a
clown’s dog, who was invited to many children´s birthday parties.
into the basket with his nose. So Brian found out that
Billy wasn´t a normal dog, because he was very good
at playing basketball and so that’s why Billy came into
Brian´s school basketball team. They all trained very
hard and won many competitions. In the last competition of the season they were on TV, because they were
the best junior basketball team in town, and they had
that magical dog in their team.
One day on their way home, Billy fell from the trailer
onto the street. The dog was very sad and happy at the
same time, because the clown was not very friendly to
him. So the dog waited there for many hours. Suddenly
a car came along the street. It was Brian and his mum,
who were on the way to Liverpool.
Brian saw the dog and asked his mum to take him with
them. His mum agreed, but only as long as the real owner wasn’t found. Brian was very sad about that and hoped that they didn´t find the owner. He had a wonderful
time with his dog, played with him and did lots of things
with him.At first Billy didn´t eat very much, only yoghurt,
but then he liked all kinds of food. In the meantime the
clown tried very hard to find his dog, but he didn’t succeed. Billy forgot the awful years with his old owner and
had a lot of fun
with Brian.
One day Brian
was very sad,
because he had
a bad mark at
school and so
he shouted with
his dog.
And then something really
strange
happened:
Brian
threw his old
basketball at Billy, but the dog
turned aside and
pushed the ball
But now Brian and his dog Billy had a big problem. The
clown saw both of them on TV and drove to Liverpool
to get his dog back. Billy didn´t want to go with the
clown, but he was helpless. Brian was very sad and cried
a lot. His mum couldn´t help him either, because the
clown was the legal owner. So the clown took Billy with
him. The next day Brian went to the clown´s house by
bus. There he saw his dog Billy. He took him and went
with him home again. And Brian´s mum understood
that Billy didn´t like the clown. So they hid Billy near
the house.
One day the clown came and was very angry with Brian
and hit him, so that his lip was bleeding. Now Brian´s
mum got very angry too, and said to the clown that
she would take it to court. But the judge could not find
a solution and so he said that the dog had to decide
which owner he wanted to have.
The clown worked with lots of tricks to get his dog
back. But Billy knew deep in his heart that Brian was his
best friend and so he decided for the boy. Brian and his
mum were the happiest people, and, of course, Billy was
the happiest dog of the whole wide world. The clown
had to go to prison, because he had hurt Brian. Brian
and Billy played in the basketball-team again and won
many competitions in many countries.

The birthday present

It was Friday morning. Sam was in his room and he was
very sad, because he thought that everyone had forgotten his birthday. He went downstairs into the kitchen, where he had his breakfast.
Suddenly the doorbell rang. His mum opened, it was
Sam`s grandpa. He said, ”Come on, Sam, put on your
clothes and come with me, I have got a surprise for
you!” Sam did what his grandpa told him. Then they
went to a large field by car. There was a hot air balloon
in the middle of the field. Sam`s grandpa shouted, ”Happy birthday, Sam!”
He gave him a balloon trip as a birthday present. Sam
was very happy about it. He decided to ride southbound
and so they started. Sam thought, “It is very beautiful to
ride in a balloon.” Suddenly a heavy storm came and the
pilot lost control of the balloon. Sam and his grandpa
were really scared.The pilot wanted to land the balloon
safely, but it did not work, and the balloon fell down
into the sea.
After some time they all woke up on an island. It was
a puzzle how they had come onto the island, but they
were happy to be alive. Sam found lots of fruit to eat,
but they did not know if there were people or wild
animals on the island.
So they built a hut to live in and to get protection from
the rain.
The next day Sam and his grandpa heard a noise that
came from the forest. They suddenly saw an Indian. He
wanted to know where they had come from.
Sam`s grandpa asked him if he knew the way to their
home in California, but he did not. So the Indian called
his friends and they took them prisoners.
They got little to eat and they had to work hard. They
did not know how they should escape, because there
were too many guards. One day the Indian king took
them to a volcano. He wanted them to jump into the

crater, but suddenly there was a volcanic eruption. So
they ran away from the volcano. The three prisoners
could rescue themselves, because they quickly went
into their hut. The Indians died because it was too hot
and they could not run so fast. Only one of them survived.
The whole island was full of ashes. So they had nothing
to eat.The Indian whose name was Tuto had an idea. He
built a boat for three people out of ten trees they could
find. It was not easy but he was able to do it.
On a warm day they started to row across the sea.After
a long journey they finally came to a country near California. They phoned Sam`s mother and she took them
home. She was very happy when she saw them again.
Sam told his mum the story and they took Tuto into
their family. So they lived together happily with their
rescuer at their side.
Bye Bye, Easy Life

Alison, Claire and Becky were sisters. They lived in a
family with lots of money, because their father was a
successful interior designer. They lived in a wonderful
villa. Alison was a student at a university and her sisters
went to a high school.
On a rainy morning they had no premonition that this
day would turn out as the most terrible one of their
lives. Claire and Becky were sitting in the classroom
when the headmaster came in and told them that their
father had died in a terrible traffic accident. They rode
home on their bikes and found their mother crying in
the living room.
A few days after the burial a revenue officer came and
told them that their family was in debt and said that
they had to move out of the villa. So they left the city
and moved to a farm in the country.
The three sisters and their mother didn’t know what
poverty meant, but they got to know it these days and
they had to work hard in the fields.
When Claire and Becky went to school on a wonderful
morning they saw a beautiful black wild horse on their
fields. Of course they were afraid, but after some time
they tried to take it to their farm, because they had an
idea.
After school they wanted to ride on the horse, but it
was too wild and they had to tame it.
One day Claire and Becky alternately rode on the horse.
Then they came up with the
idea to go in for a horse race.
They asked a horse trainer if he
would like to train their horse.
He agreed and after long hours
of training, he had made a race
horse of it. One year later their
horse Apollo started at a horse
race and won.
But then, one rainy night their
farm burned down and they
had to move again. In their new
school Claire and Becky had
no friends, but then Cindy, a girl dressed in black, invited them to her birthday party and they became good
friends.
When Cindy came to their farm they always rode on
Apollo. Claire and Becky thought that Cindy really liked
their horse, but they didn’t know that she was just jealous and wanted to destroy their luck.
One afternoon, when Cindy was alone with Apollo she
took a knife out of her coat and stabbed it into Apollo’s
stomach and ran away. When Becky and Claire came
back they called the vet immediately. He stitched the
wound and three weeks later Apollo was fit again. The
horse started at horse races as before and often won
them, and so they made quite a lot of money.
Four years later they were rich again and could move
back to their villa.
When Apollo was too old for horse races, he sired for
enough offspring. They were really happy that they had
such a wonderful horse at the right moment and that
they could live in their villa again.
