Service Number 23549.
Prior to enlisting Norman was
employed as telephone mechanic.
He enlisted with the RAAF serving
as a wireless air gunner with 20
Squadron. Norman escaped from
Rabaul after the Japanese invasion
and took part in raids over enemy
territory. He was reported missing
after the Battle of the Coral Sea
and is believed to have been
captured and then executed after
interrogation. There is no known
grave but Norman is
commemorated on the Port
Moresby Memorial.
