Dear First Grade Parents, It is the beginning of another exciting school year! I am indeed looking forward to working with you and having your child in my class this year. Listed below are some things you need to know: Orientation day is Monday, August 17, at 7:00 PM in the church auditorium. School begins promptly at 8:20 AM and ends at 2:30 PM. After your child has learned where his/her class room is located, please allow him/her to come to the classroom alone. This helps the child begin the day with independence and allows the teachers to start class on time. We have prepared a packet of supplies for each student. The packet was paid for in your Book and Activity Fee and consists of: Elmer’s School Glue Baggies for manipulatives Safety scissors Pencils First grade writing pad Box of 64 crayons Children should bring the following items to class: Two plastic school boxes Umbrella/Rain gear A locker sized book satchel A box of Clorox wipes One large box of Kleenex Three plastic pocket folders One college rule spiral notebook The daily cost of school lunch is $4.00 and includes a balanced meal along with milk. Extra cartons of milk are $.60. Lunch orders will be entered in to RenWeb and the cost will be added to your school account. Friday is snack day. Students may bring $.75 for a snack. Ice cream is $.50-$1.25. We enjoy a birthday party at the end of each month. Room mothers will contact the birthday parents and other parents to help with parties.
