CLEMEX HEMACYTO
An instrument designed in Canada for a lasting partnership
Simplify the analysis
Increase productivity
Clemex HemaCyto analyzes images of
peripheral blood samples. Qualified
professionals can then easily classify
leukocytes by type.
A blood smear can be examined in
approximately 2.5 minutes. Clemex
HemaCyto makes it easier for hematology
professionals to share and exchange
knowledge.
CLEMEX HEMACYTO
Understanding your challenges
Standardize your analysis process
Automate WBC localization
Clemex HemaCyto standardizes the analysis
process, locates leukocytes and displays cells on a
single screen for easy comparison. Standardization
offers better analysis follow-up and more uniform
interpretation.
The system uses the company’s proven imaging
software to locate the white blood cells and
characterize their morphological features. This
automation aims to increase ergonomics and free up
valuable specialists’ time to focus on problem cells.
Share images of atypical cells
Ensure traceability of differential result
Clemex HemaCyto makes it easier for hematology
professionals to collaborate by quickly exporting and
sharing images of cells from the differential view.
Exchange of such information between colleagues
makes targeting emergencies and validating a
diagnosis more effective.
All results, images, and details of the analyses are
traceable, and the results of the differential are linked
to the patient’s file. Atypical cells can be rapidly
located and validated by the specialist.
CLEMEX HEMACYTO
WBC differential and RBC characterization
Clemex HemaCyto is the most recent microscopy system used in the analysis of peripheral blood.
The instrument’s automated leukocyte location, cell characterization and platelet count features all
contribute to make the technologists’ tasks easier and more efficient. A greater number of white
blood cell types can thus be classified in a given period of time.
Uses image analysis
Clemex HemaCyto uses the company’s
proven imaging software to locate white blood
cells and measure characteristics such as
texture, color, shape and size in order to sort
the different types of cells.
Speed of analysis
One slide analysis takes about 2.5 minutes.
Criteria such as the cell count, RBC analysis
and custom specific requirements may vary
the process time.
Different configurations
Choose either the flexible one-slide solution
or the fully automated 40+ slide system for
laboratories processing a high volume of
differential analyses.
CLEMEX HEMACYTO
A differential count in 3 easy steps
After finding the ideal reading area for white cell, red cell and platelet detection, Clemex HemaCyto
automatically finds leukocytes present in this area and suggests a pre-classification. The
hematology professional verifies and validates the slide.
Step 1 – WBC localization
The system automatically locates and
pre-classifies mature cells of normal
morphology.
Step 2 – Verification
The specialist’s expertise is required to
reclassify certain leukocytes, estimate
platelets and characterize white cells, red
cells and platelets.
Step 3 – Slide approval
Once a differential count is complete,
the specialist carries out a compulsory
approval. Results are shown in a
differential report in pdf format.

Product Features
Below are a few of the features that make this product stand out when it comes to automation,
enhanced image capture, and accurate object detection and measurement.
Differential Report
Easy Classification
The report includes statistics, comments,
erythrocyte characterization, platelet estimates,
a record of the steps taken to arrive at the
differential, and all relevant information used for
traceability (slide number, user, sequence of
events).
Reclassifying white blood cells in the proper
category is easy. Use the method that suits you
to classify leukocytes, such as by selecting one
or more cells and performing a "drag and drop".
Measure a Leucocyte’s Size
Revisit Leukocytes
The Ruler function displays the distance
between two points on an image. To measure a
distance, simply draw a line on the image. The
distance is displayed in a box centered on the
line.
In some cases, the user will want to revisit a
particular white blood cell. He clicks on the
thumbnail of the cell of interest and the stage
moves to the cell’s position automatically.

Integrated Approval Procedure
Magnifying Glass
The Approval Inspector is a tool that lists the
steps that must be completed for a differential
count prior to the submission of a report, such
as looking at all erythrocyte fields and going
through all types of identified leukocytes.
The Magnifying Glass is used to enlarge a
portion of the image that is under the cursor.
This feature is very useful for seeing more
details, such as inclusion bodies.
Notes on Leukocyte Images
References
You can access the Note Editor through the
thumbnail image. When a comment is written, a
colored triangle appears (yellow, red, or green)
and comments can be read with the tooltip.
References help technologists build a leukocyte
library. Particularly useful when it comes to
atypical cells.

Image Separation
When more than one leukocyte appears in an
image, the user can make as many copies of
the image he needs. He can indicate with a
cross all the cells he wishes to ignore. The user
can then categorize the cells in their appropriate
type.
