1. Cakes and Pies will be given a 1st 2nd, & 3rd place
award. Entries will be judged on taste and the
difficulty of the recipe.
Ex: Homemade cakes and pies (from scratch) will
receive more points than a box mix or bought pie
crust.
(Recipe must be submitted with entry of pie or
cake

2. Cake - Recipes do not have to be original, but you
must have baked & decorated the cake yourself. You
must turn in a typed or handwritten recipe for the
judges to view while judging your cake. Your entry
will be disqualified if a recipe is not included.
Remember: Taste is more important than decorations in this category. Decorating/Presentation is a
separate award. This way simple and delicious can
win too!

3. Pie - Recipes do not have to be original, but you
must have baked & decorated the pie yourself. You
must include a recipe for your pie and pie crust.
Please turn in a typed or handwritten recipe for the
pie and/or pie crust for the judges to view while
judging your entry. Your entry will be disqualified if
a recipe is not included. Remember: Taste is more
important than decorations in this category.
Decorating/Presentation is a separate award. This
way simple and delicious can win too!

4. Presentation Award: MOST PATRIOTIC
This is a separate award and will be judged solely on
the appearance of the cake/pie. Taste is not involved.
If you are entering the baking contest you do not
have to participate in this part of the competition.
5. You must be an amateur baker to enter the contest.
Professional bakers will be disqualified.

Entry fee: $5.00 per entry

A $1.00 discount will be given to all
participants that have submitted their
applications by April 8th.

Cakes & Pies must be checked in at the
Arlington Senior Citizens Center.
Entries can be delivered to the center between
2:00pm and 5:30 pm.
Refrigerated entries should arrive around 5pm.
All entries must be at the center by 5:30 pm
9.
All entries become property of the Arlington
Senior Citizens Center.
10. All platters must be picked up between 2 and 3 pm
on Saturday. If your platters are not picked up by
May 6th, 2016, they will be donated to the center.
