The Objective
This client is one of the largest drug retailing
chain in the United States with over 8000+
stores. They provide access to consumer goods
and services, pharmacy and health and wellness
services. As the leader in drug retail segment,
to drive business outcomes they emphasized on
delivering quality consistent across the LoBs.

The Need:
Challenge vs Opportunity
To drive the business outcomes, the client took a
strategic decision to form a centralized business
service QA organization across the multiple LoBs.
Client wanted to reduce the duplication of QA
efforts due to multiple LoBs and silo approach
to testing cycles. Also, Increase alignment to risk
appetite by bringing all stakeholders into common
business objectives. Cognizant was entrusted as
a partner to form a centralized business service
QA organization through Business Process
Testing. We undertook end to end ownership of
this transformation initiative and identified best
practices, unified processes and tools from within
and industry. 36 transformation thoughts were
identified across 6 transformation themes.

shift left quality. Cognizant developed a BPT
