This comprehensive list or requirements is based on ten years of experience in serving homeowners and
guests for vacation home rentals. The required items are based on guest expectations since the “home away
from home” concept is of the biggest reasons that guests choose vacation homes rather than hotels.

Sheets that are white or light in color that can be bleached are desirable.
Duvet Covers that are washable are preferred as comforter.
White or very light is not a good choice for outer bedding.

A well-appointed kitchen is required. It’s very important and creates repeat renters/guests.

Garbage Disposal Service Requirements:
£ For single-family vacation homes (excluding condos) located in the
City of Palm Springs, it is required by city ordinance to Sign up with Palm
Springs Disposal Services for “estate” walk-up service where they will
pick-up unlimited containers for each garbage pick-up. For Palm Springs,
please call Palm Springs Disposal Services, phone: 760-327-1351.
£ Estate walk-up service requires that the gate to your property be
accessible to the disposal service people. The two big benefits of the
required estate service: garbage service will pickup an unlimited number
of trash cans and will collect the garbage cans from behind the gate and
return the garbage cans to the property behind the gates.

Recommended: Time Warner Cable Package that includes both Internet
Access and Cable TV service is preferred.
(*Important Notes regarding disposal services: The City of Palm Springs requires by
City Ordinance that each single family residence that is used as a vacation rental
(not condos) have the special service level offered called “Estate Service” level of
service for all private homes that have individual garbage pick-up. Please inquire
with Palm Springs Disposal & Recycling Services to arrange this service.)
£ For houses with private pools: 2-3 high quality Pool floats
–sturdy vinyl coated, not the inflatable blow-up ones.
£ 1-3 Large Patio Umbrellas (with sturdy 50 lb bases)
£ Barbeque Set (Spatula, Tongs, etc)
£ Full Set of Safe Plastic-Ware Glasses and Plates.
£ New or Very Reliable Gas Pool Heater.
£ Outdoor Speakers Not Permitted for Private Homes in Palm Springs
and Rancho Mirage due to the City’s Noise Ordinance.
Labels “How to” Switches, Lights, TVs:
£ Please label any switch or item for light switches, electronics, TVs or
Remotes or sound system - or other “how to” labels that will be helpful to
guests such as key light switches and control switches for your property.
£ An easy to use and labeled universal remote for electronics.
