Life in A Trench. World War One This leaflet is designed to tell you all about what life would be like to be in a trench during World War 1. As you and I both know it wouldn't be easy wearing the same clothes for a month and also going ‘Over The Top’. By Hannah and Sophie Information Organization This is No Mans’ Land During WW1. Information Organization St. John’s Primary School Dixon Street, Hamilton Ml3 6PZ Phone 1 : 01698320067 Phone 2 : 01698305303 Countries Involved in WWI There were many countries involved in WWI these are only a few of them: Life in a Trench Germany In a trench, soldiers would eat, sleep, and live. They wouldn't have a proper toilet ( or a toilet of any kind!) They would have to sleep on the ground where rats lived (if they were lucky they would have a small crate to sit on.) There would be no showers nor a basin to wash up in but on the bright side they got a nice hot meal and a shower and their clothes cleaned and mended (they would be in the same clothes for a month!) In a trench there would be a good chance of getting a disease like: trench foot, trench mouth and many, many more. This is a picture of a soldier who had trench foot. Austria-Hungary Great Britain The Big Four The big 4 were: David Lloyd George of Great Britain, Georges Clemenceau of France, Vittorio Orlando of Italy, and Woodrow Wilson of the United States. David Lloyd George, of Great Britain, wanted security, peace and to compromise with Germany. France Italy Russia Belgium China Serbia America Romania Portugal Georges Clemenceau of France wanted to punish Germany for all they had done ,he also wanted security and revenge. Woodrow Wilson of the United States, wanted peace, a better world and the League of Nations. Vittorio Orlando of Italy wanted land, money and ‘THE GUILT CLAUSE’!
