It’s been a busy, busy week at Pelham as you will see from
this week’s Flyer…..
Thank you to everyone who has supported Children in
Need this week and to Mrs Lyne and School Council for
organising the activities. The children looked fantastic today
in their array of spotted clothing. Well done to Toby
Emmerson who was the lucky winner of our guess the
number of dots on the cake. Enjoy sharing the cake with
your family!
Reception enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Polka
Theatre last Thursday to
watch ‘How to Hide a Lion’.
The production was great
with amazing puppetry and
singing. Finn said, ‘I liked the
bit where the burglar came
down and took the candlestick.’ Sarah said, ‘it was good when the
lion was being silly and the bath went on top of Iris.’ During the
week, children have made their own lion masks… don’t be too
scared, ROAAAAARRRRRR!
Well done to Year 3 for
their hard work and great toy models,
which they
made as part of
their Enabling
Enterprise
project. I know
they really
enjoyed sharing them with all the parents who were
able to come along to their presentations this week.
9.30am Swallows & Puffins
We have also been marking Anti-Bullying week with a range of events and
activities. Read the attached flyer to find out more. Thank you to Mrs Greer
for organising everything so well.

School Fund
Friday 16th December
Thank you to everyone who has made a donation to School Fund this term.
Your donations make a real difference to the extras that we can provide for the
children. Our anti-bullying drama workshops this week, which the children
really enjoyed, were funded from your generous school fund donations. You
will see from the attached flyer how we are doing on a class by class basis and
overall. So, please keep supporting our School Fund if you are able to. Thank
you 

As we have welcomed some new children into our Nursery, just a reminder that Nursery

Summer holidays. They also start back later in September and January due to home visits.
Start date for existing Nursery in January is Tuesday 10th January 2017.

challenging behaviour, separation and bereavement, anxiety and worries, ADHD, ASD and
parental mental health. This half term, Lucille will be in school on Tuesday 22nd

Book Fair – Monday November 21st – Saturday 26th November
We are pleased to inform you that Scholastics Book Fair will be arriving at Pelham on
Monday 21st November. We intend to set up our book fair in the corridor by our
Extended Services (near the exit to the main playground) from 3:30 – 3:45pm, Monday to
Friday. Books may also be purchased at our Winter Fair run by the PTA on Saturday 26th.
As always, Book Fair carefully selects a range of appealing, quality texts which we hope
might make excellent gifts, at this time of year, or welcome additions to home libraries.
Through your support of our book fairs, each year we earn on average over £1,000 in
commission which means all Pelham children benefit from new titles appearing in the
library as well as supplemented class collections. Thank you, in advance, and happy
shopping.
Have a good weekend.
Regards
Maria Keenan
