In September, Mory’s awarded Peter Salovey
the Mory’s Cup for more than 30 years of
distinguished service to Yale.
When Peter was introduced as Yale’s 23rd
President, he articulated his goal for the
University to become even more unified,
accessible, innovative and excellent.
President Peter Salovey receives the Mory’s Cup in September.
He is joined by Tom Ketchum ’72 and the Whiffenpoofs of 2014.
Mory’s is well-positioned to support and reinforce President Salovey’s vision for the future!
More Unified
There is no other place like Mory’s. Fellowship, good cheer and our shared traditions have been
the hallmarks of Mory’s for over 160 years. Located at the heart of the Yale campus, Mory’s is
a unique place for alumni to reconnect and for students and the broader Yale community to
forge deeper relationships.
More Accessible
For many generations, Mory’s has been accessible to those closest to Yale. Today, a more
inclusive membership policy welcomes all those affiliated with Yale, plus many friends in the
community. Importantly, Yale students are joining and using Mory’s in significant numbers.
We now have over 2,000 student members, split evenly between Yale College and the Graduate
and Professional Schools, up 50% from a year ago.
More Innovative
Once famous for Welsh Rarebit and Golden Buck
(both of which still adorn the menu), Mory’s is
increasingly known for its fine cuisine, excellent
wine selection and innovative programming that
spotlights Yale’s deep reservoir of talent and its
special history. Our distinguished Speaker Series,
arts events and tours, live music, wine tastings and
dinners, “indoor tailgates” and trivia nights mark
Mory’s as a truly contemporary institution that
attracts a diverse constituency.

More Excellent
When a small group of students from the Class of 1863
stopped at an obscure taproom on Wooster Street on their
way back from crew practice, Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Moriarty welcomed them “with an old-fashioned courtesy
which forever afterwards possessed its charm.”
Today, a professional management team and an
experienced board lead Mory’s, with an emphasis on
maintaining our traditions and building a strong business
that will serve our members well into the future.
As a Mory’s member, you are essential to keeping our Club vibrant.
Please help us to ensure that Mory’s historic traditions will be here for future generations by
supporting the 2013-14 Annual Fund.
Please consider making a gift of $200 – or more if you are able.
Your contribution will ensure that Mory’s continues to be a unique part of the Yale
experience! Thank you for your generosity and commitment to our wonderful institution.
Sincerely,
Thomas B. Ketchum ’72
