Our students are doing great as young authors! Our Writer's Workshop time is a fun part of the day when they write stories. You will find a sample of your child’s writing in their Tuesday folder each week. Have your child read their story to you! Things we are working on include: *Capital at the beginning of sentences *Space between words in sentence *Period at the end of sentences *Only using capital letters at the beginning of sentences or if a name is written *Does the story make sense? *Sight words should be spelled correctly. They can look at these words on our Word Wall and copy them if needed. Other words may not be spelled exactly correct (which is okay!), but you should see the beginning sound match the letter the child wrote. Middle sounds can be a little tougher, but by saying the word and stretching it (like we do for reading) most students can put at least part of the middle of the word together. And then our hope is that they also hear the ending sound. Please let me know if you have any questions!
