Structural glazing with PVC-U profiles
Environment
Our window profiles are stabilised with eco friendly calcium/zinc instead of lead. This means
not only better protection for the environment,
but also better quality at every stage in the life
of the window – with greater resistance to weathering, longer retention of glossy properties,
and cleaner environmental protection that pays
Services by professionals
PVC-U windows from the KBE systems
are manufactured and marketed only by selected specialised companies whose reputation
warrants the best quality and customer friendly
services.

world’s highest buildings feature heavy self-supporting insulating panes mounted with adhesives, for instance the Burj al
Arab Hotel, Petronas Towers, and London Eye. For decades
they have safely withstood the dynamic loads.
Yet window manufacturers have since profited only relatively
slightly from the advantages of this technology. Now, though,
they can manufacture these windows with innovative adhesives that surpass conventionally joined designs: the advanta-

Window design
The GlassWin® System opens up completely new potential in
window design: the absence of steel reinforcing in the
sash profile means that PVC-U profile designs can feature
considerably slimmer sight lines – without detriment to the
dimensional stability. The sash profile is completely covered
by the glass pane and is not visible from the outside.

Technical innovation
Test results issued by the window technologies institute ift
in Rosenheim certified the permanent bond between the
PVC and glass. This certificate is based on the test under
ETAG No. 002 for facade sealant systems that assumes a
mean building life of twenty-five years. A safety factor of
two applies, i.e. an additional fifty years.
Printed laminates around the edges of the glass underscore the technoid character of contemporary architecture.
They can be designed in line with personal wishes and
so do justice to the owner’s need for prestige.

KBE brings colour into play
Attached aluminium cladding for
an unlimited range of colours
The combination of PVC-U and aluminium is an exemplary
fusion of the perfect exterior look and the PVC-U window’s
thermal insulation values.
It combines the best of both materials in the one structural
element.
On the outside, the attached aluminium cladding
offers almost limitless possibilities in colour design, whilst
on the inside, PVC-U profiles ensure low maintenance, high
dimensional stability, and reliable functionality. A wide range
of both mat and high-gloss RAL colours are available for the
colour design. These colours are applied by a powder coating
method. A further variant involves anodised surfaces in natural colour, nickel silver, gold, light bronze, dark bronze, and
black. At the same time, the GlassWin® System presents the
best insulation (Uw) properties that not only effortlessly meet
the legal provisions under the EnEV (Energy Savings Act),
but even surpass them.
