At the first part of our Annual Congregational Meeting in
February we will be selecting one elder and two auditors. Please contact a member of the nominating committee as soon as possible with
names you would recommend for these positions. The committee is
composed of Helen Hogye, Carol Schuttinga, Kwathi Ajawin, Dave
Hazelton and Pastor Kynes. Also, please remember that no nominations for elder may be taken from the floor during the Annual Meeting.
Deacons and nominating committee members for next year will be
voted on in Part II of the Annual Congregational Meeting in March.
Please inform the current nominating committee members of anyone
you would like to nominate for the next nominating committee and
for any of the deacon positions.

Financial Update for November
We began the month with a General Fund balance of $69,970.81. We
had income of $72,349.70 and regular expenses of $56,182.07, plus
$10,300 applied to the mortgage principle, resulting in a balance of
$75,838.44. This balance triggers an additional mortgage principle
payment of $10,000 in the month of December. The Benevolent Fund
has a balance of $10,016.30.
Rock Solid Christmas Party
The Rock Solid Youth Christmas party is today at the Cate’s, 4602
Herend Place, Fairfax, at 2:00 p.m. We will have our annual White
Elephant Exchange, make sure you bring a wrapped gift!

"The Year of the Lord's Favor"
(Isaiah 61)
Our passage this morning continues the theme of the coming kingdom
when God's people are blessed, and it points us to the way in which that
blessing has already begun in the Christ of Christmas.
I. A Glorious Kingdom to Come—
A. An Anointed Servant (vv. 1-3)
B. An Everlasting Covenant (vv. 3-9)
C. A Robe of Righteousness (vv. 10-11)
II. A Glorious King Has Come—
Jesus said to them,
“Today this scripture is fulfilled
in your hearing.” (Luke 4:21)
"I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor,
now is the day of salvation."
