Significant Events Response Conference: “Removing Barriers and Opening the Door for Cross‐Disciplinary Understanding and Coordination” For two days, join experts and peers from throughout the I‐95 Corridor, and nationally, for this timely and important conference! DATES: CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES: LOCATION & HOTEL:  Educate attendees to enable their agencies’ development and implementation of a multi‐level approach ‐‐ or “roadmap” ‐‐ for addressing events, providing all levels with the information they need to understand situations and proposed responses in order to enable aggressive and informed decision‐
making by senior officials as well as the various disciplines and agencies involved in handling a significant event.  Share Best Practices regarding coordinated internal and external communications.  Provide attendees information about current and potentially upcoming “tools they can use” (systems and technologies) at their home agencies during an event.  Provide a glimpse of future technologies. All sessions, breaks, lunches, and reception will be held at the Conference Center at the Maritime Institute
(CCMIT). CCMIT is nestled within 80 acres of lush greenery and rolling grounds with ample room for
jogging, walking, and other outside activities. This countryside setting is strategically located within the
Baltimore - Washington corridor. In fact, the campus is less than five miles from the Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport, the BWI Amtrak Station, and Interstate-95.
The campus is also near many major tourist destinations such as Baltimore, Annapolis, and Washington,
DC.
TRANSPORTATION:
Shuttle Connections – CCMIT offers a free shuttle service to/from the Baltimore-Washington International
(BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport, the BWI Amtrak Station, and the North Linthicum Light Rail Station.
Upon arrival at these locations, please contact CCMIT’s experienced front desk staff members at (410)
859-5700, extension “0,” to make transportation arrangements.
Taxi Service – For guests that would prefer to use a taxi service, CCMIT’s campus is less than five miles
from the BWI Airport, the BWI Amtrak Station, and the North Linthicum Light Rail Station.

Parking Information – Once on CCMIT grounds, follow the blue lines to visitor parking lots A, B, C, or D.
There is no charge for parking at CCMIT. After parking, please visit the front desk, which is located in the
South Residence Tower (Building #2) for directions, if needed.
HOTEL:
A block of hotel rooms has been reserved at the Maritime Institute at the special reduced rate of $139.00
per night (plus taxes) for conference attendees. The room rate includes a hot breakfast and a hot dinner
in the main dining hall. This hotel rate is significantly less than the 2015 government per diem rate of
$186 (hotel $121 per day plus meals $61 per day). Complimentary use of recreational facilities (indoor
pool, fitness center, game room) are included. Conference attendees are responsible for making their
own hotel reservations for the Maritime Institute, or at another hotel of their choosing.
