When autumn arrives, the red maple leaves call out the orange and yellows of all other trees
around the lake. Their reflections on the lake water is so beautiful!
Why not to spend a relaxing time bathing in the hot spring while you enjoy the lakeside view?
It s also fun to take the sightseeing boat and visit the island in the center of the lake, where Ezo
(Hokkaido) deer are grazing.
If you take the Mt. Usu ropeway to the top, you will be able to see the whole view of Lake Toya.
Noboribetsu Onsen is one of the outstanding hot springs areas of Japan. With eleven kinds of hot water springs
it is a most remarkable spa town that is justifiably proud of producing 10,000 tons of hot water daily. One of the
delights of Noboribetsu is making the evening rounds of springs, sampling the different types of efficacious
waters.
In the center of this area is the quaint old onsen village itself which boasts several dozen craft shops and gift
stores, the eaves of their tile roofs lined up one next to the other with a most traditional feeling. After soaking in
the spa you can don a traditional light kimono and enjoy the pleasant aimlessness of an onsen trip.
