Identity Week 2 - Real Life Christian Church

Middle School
Week 2
imin!
Bottom Line
Only light can provide direction
In the Bible
Judges 16:4-21
Big Picture
In tonight’s passage of scripture, we were challenged and reminded to keep our hearts captivated by God and His love. And if we allow
our hearts, and ultimately our lives, be controlled by earthly loves, we are destined to be deceived.
Life Group Discussion Questions
remember, imin! to listen, believe, and connect
LIFE GROUP ACTIVITY (3-5 minutes)
Pencil (or Pen) Balance Challenge: Have everyone in groups of either 2-4 Students (3 is recommended). Every Student must use just 1 pointer finger (and
only the pointer finger on the nail) to balance the pencil between each team member, then starting at the waist, the first group to bring their pencil higher
than the shortest person's head while still having each finger balancing the pencil up wins!
If possible, take a short video and post to instagram!
-You can tie in how God has created everyone differently, and trying to balance everyone’s different opinions of you is more diffidult than being and living
for who God has created you to be.
FROM THE RELATIONSHIP
Discuss:
1. Would you rather get Mike Tyson’s face tattoo on your face or the poster of Sharknado 2 across your whole back?
2. If you got a $5000 gift card to any store in the world, what store would it be and why?
(pick a topic that best fits your Life Group, then have Students discuss briefly to get the conversation going)
How was your week?
FROM THE TENSION
1. As a Christian, what do you think is the hardest part of having a healthy dating relationship?
2. Why do you think Samson had such a difficult time seeing Delilah’s motives through out the biblical account?
FROM THE TRUTH
3. What does God warn us about earthly loves? What effect can these earthly loves have on us?
4. From the text, where did Samson go wrong with his relationship with Delilah? In what ways could Samson relayed more God instead of Delilah?
FROM THE APPLICATION
5. How can God and His truth help provide real direction for our lives?
6. What relationships in your life do you turn to for direction rather than God?
NEXT STEP
Ask your students for prayer requests. Pray with them. Some of them may need help figuring out who they belong to, some may need to examine their
friendships and relationships. They need your help.
