OUR CORE
PURPOSE
AT EZEKIEL HOUSE
“Restoring, empowering and educating
society, creating individual solutions for
addictive and destructive beliefs and
behavior, rebuilding community based
on hope, love and faith for a new
beginning”
Who We Are
“Though no one can go back and make a new start, anyone can start
from new and make a brand new end”Carl Brand
Ezekiel House was found by Casey and Judy Kooiman in 2008.
Recovery and restoration among families and individuals affected by
substance abuse has been their business for over a decade. It is their
passion, their hope and their calling.
Our multidisciplinary team combines years of experience in the field
of addiction, providing sought after expertise to residents and their
families. Every treatment program is designed to address the specific
needs of each resident, and includes the involvement of our:

Our centre provides a highly professional, affordable and holistic
solution structured personally for each individual resident designed to
offer them their best chance at long-term sobriety- Anybody can stop
using, the trick is to stay sopped!
THE
What We Do
“The task ahead of us can never ever be
greater than the Power behind us”
Residents are admitted onto our program for a minimum period of 8
months. This gives the residents time to concentrate on the residents
recovery and on the underlying issues that contributed to destructive
and addictive beliefs and behavior. A road is walked with each individual
to help them confront these issues and to lay a strong, foundation for
sober living.

This holistic and integrative approach to treating substance abuse,
combined with the 8-month minimum duration of our program, provides
every person with the skills and support needed to achieve goals and
maintain sobriety.
Residents have a full, structured day and are overseen by case managers
who provide progress reports to parents/sponsors on a bi-monthly basis.
Our tranquil farm environment promotes peaceful reflection and daily
opportunities to interact with animals, tend flower beds, work in the
vegetable garden, and to see the labour of your hands, which is always
rewarding.
Every resident at Ezekiel House must take responsibility for their recovery.
A point system is used to monitor their progress and to motivate residents
to gain privileges like phone calls and family visits.
Family Support
Addiction has far-reaching consequences affecting not only the addict,

and advice for parents and family members through individual sessions
and a weekly support group.
In addition, our social worker oversees residents with minor children,
facilitating family sessions and supervised visitations to promote

How it Works
“The greatest gift you can give another, is
not just to share your riches but to reveal
to him his own”Benjamin Disraeli
Our treatment program consists of the following three phases:
1)"4&Life Assessment
1)"4&
In this first phase residents are confronted in regards
to destructive behavior and beliefs and focus on the
consequence thereof. They examine their life story,
identifying problem areas and thinking errors, which
challenge specific beliefs that justify destructive
behaviors, gaining a better understanding of
addiction, its physiological and psychological effects.

This phase focuses on the practical application
of a positive attitude and behaviour. Residents
are equipped with the skills they need in order to
change their attitude, self belief and behaviour, to no
longer have to rely on drugs and alcohol as coping
mechanisms. They also learn to manage additional
responsibilities within their program.

phase . This is a 6-month program
that places emphasis on reintegration,
accountability and skills implementation.
Residents receive mentoring as they
practically apply what they’ve learn in the
first two phases of the program. This Phase
of the program is highly recommended, at
this point a sponsor has in effect invested everything from the first and
second phase into this re integration phase.

4. Is family expected to be involved?
Family participation is strongly encouraged as
this has a significant bearing on the resident’s

resident.
