Tatum says
XXL end of
road for
Magic Mike
DANIELLE MCGRANE
SYDNEY: Channing Tatum says Magic
Mike XXL will probably be the last in
the film franchise, admitting he has
plumbed the depths of his previous life
as a stripper as far as he could for the
second film.
Tatum was in Sydney on Monday
night with co-star Joe Manganiello for
the Australian premiere of the film,
which follows male stripping group
Kings of Tampa as they go back on the
road for one last show.
The stars were happy to pose for
selfies with fans, many of whom had
waited overnight for a chance to meet
them on the red carpet on a cold night,
but it seems it may be their last chance
to catch the Magic Mike roadshow.
“We scraped the creative bottom of
the barrel on this one,” Tatum said on
the red carpet.
“There’s nothing else to tell out of
my personal experiences. If someone
else wants to, I’ll do anything, if they
really want to.” But the actor enjoyed
making the sequel to his 2012 hit
movie.
“This is one of those movies that
you don’t have to mask the good time
that you’re actually having,” he said.
“The first movie is about a guy who
basically was just living inside the
party until he realises he wants more
out of life and he leaves it completely
behind.
LOS ANGELES: Hollywood
producer Jerry Weintraub,
who made the Ocean’s Eleven
movies and managed artists
including Frank Sinatra, has
died aged 77.
George Clooney and former US president George
HW Bush were among the
first to mourn Weintraub,
whose credits also included
Diner, The Karate Kid and
1998’s The Avengers.
“In the coming days there
will be tributes ... We’ll laugh
at his great stories, and applaud his accomplishments,”
Clooney said in a statement.
“And in the years to come,
the stories and accomplishments will get better with
age, just as Jerry would have
wanted it. But not today.
Today our friend died.”

“And then this one is
finding the party again and
realising you don’t have to
walk away from it to be responsible. It’s just a lot of fun
for me to hang out with these
guys again and get to do it all over.”
While Tatum plays a male stripper
in the film, he admitted he still feels
self-conscious about some of the film’s
promo material that features the actor
topless.
“I’m self-conscious looking at that
poster right there,” he said, pointing to
his topless photo.
“Did you ever have that dream
where you get butt naked but nobody
else is butt naked? (I’m) insecure taking my clothes off in front of one person, let alone a thousand,” he said.
Manganiello said he was happy to
be in Sydney.
“I know this city pretty well. I’ve
been here a few times – one of my favourite cities in the world and I’m not
kidding about that. I love Sydney,” he
said.
But he said he was “definitely”
missing his fiancee, actress Sofia
Vergara, who loves the film.
“She’s seen the movie a few
times and she was surprised by
how funny it was. I think that was
the thing that shocked her,” he
said.

worked as a talent manager,
representing stars such as
Sinatra, Neil Diamond and
John Denver.
He briefly led United Artists, but later left to head up
his own production house,
Weintraub Entertainment
Group.
The
producer,
who
eventually landed at Warner
Bros studios, died of heart
failure in Santa Barbara, California, spokeswoman Michelle Bega said.
“Jerry was an American
original, who earned his success by the sheer force of his
instinct, drive, and largerthan-life personality. He had
a passion for life,” Bush said.
“Throughout the ups and
downs of his prolific career it
was clear just how much he
loved show business.”
Vegan Anderson turns
up sex appeal in kitchen
LOS ANGELES: Actress
and animal rights activist Pamela Anderson
has launched her own
vegan culinary show online as she prepares to
publish her first cookbook.
The former Baywatch
beauty has teamed up with
her friend Delahna Flagg for
The Sensual Vegan blog,
which features video tutorials of the pair cooking up
healthy green meals.
Sharing the news with
fans via Twitter on Monday, she writes, “I’ve
been working on a little
sexy vegan cooking show
from home http://www.thesensualvegan.com”.
In the first instalment of
the internet venture, Anderson and Flagg share recipes
for lentil bean stew, roasted
vegetables, quinoa ginger

The actress’ cooking blog
is tied into her next publishing project, a recipe book of
the same name.
A post on the website
states, “Right now – she is

Paltrow, Sheryl Crow, Eva

favourite meals with fans in
book form, while Jennifer
Aniston recently announced
plans to reveal her go-to

set to become a dad again.
The singer’s wife, Luisana Lopilato, is pregnant with the couple’s second child.
