DESCRIPTION
TECHNICAL
INFORMATION
ALCOLIN PERMOBOND is a superior-grade bonding agent, which dries clear, has
very good water resistance and is used in a wide variety of applications. It has the
correct pH balance to perform on both acidic and alkali surfaces.
APPLICATIONS
ALCOLIN PERMBOND is an additive that can be added to cement mixes to increase
tensile strength, resilience and adhesion. When added to concrete it provides a
waterproof, hard-wearing dust free surface. It can be used as a keying agent when
placing paint, plaster or concrete onto new or old surfaces.
ALCOLIN PERMOBOND is excellent for plastering, screeding, skimming and
patching. It acts as a sealer and waterproofing agent when applied to walls,
asbestos sheeting, bricks and wood. When PERMOBOND is added to GROUT and
CRACKFILLER it improves the strength, adhesion and water resistance.
ALCOLIN PERMOBOND can also be used as an adhesive for paper and cardboard,
and is ideal for bookbinding, as well as placing wallpaper.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
y Surface Preparation:
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free of dust and grease.
y Mixing:
See attached table for ALCOLIN PERMOBOND dilutions, according to the various
applications.
y Application:
Apply one coat and allow to dry (approx. 1 hour).
When plastering, apply a second coat, wait until tacky and then apply plastering
material.
• Cleaning:
Applicators can be cleaned with water, immediately after use.
• Storage:
Seal container tightly after use and store in a cool, dry place.
NOTE:
ALCOLIN PERMOBOND (in any dilution) should never be added to a cretestone
mixture.
When painting/keying a cretestone or powder floated surface apply 1 part ALCOLIN
PERMOBOND (diluted with 5 parts water). Never apply undiluted ALCOLIN
PERMOBOND to a cretestone or powder floated surface.

coats for best results.
Concrete
Additive to plaster and concrete to enhance
resilience, adhesion and improve water
resistance.
10% of cement quality e.g. 5kg per 50kg bag of
cement.
Painting /
Keying
Apply to walls before a new paint job for better
adhesion and a really professional finish.
1 part PERMOBOND to 3 parts water.
Add up to 10% undiluted PERMOBOND to 'low
cost' paints for improved adhesion plus better
mileage.
Apply as a keying agent before painting over
cretestone.
1 part PERMOBOND to 5 parts water.
Tiling and Grouting
As an additive to tile adhesives and grout for
increased water resistance and adhesion
ideal for bathroom and kitchen applications
prevents 'cracking' in wide grout joints
essential when using porcelain tiles
1 part PERMOBOND to 3 parts water. Add to
tile adhesive or grout, in place of water.
Skimming
Apply as a primer to walls before skimming for
improved adhesion of skimming material (e.g.
cretestone, sand/cement).
1 part PERMOBOND to 3 parts water.
Note: When applying cretestone, leave a gap at
the perimeter to allow for expansion. Once cured,
finish off with additional cretestone.
Patching
Added to a sand and cement mixture.
