Great Discoveries - South Charleston Public Library

Great Discoveries
March 2017
March Book Sale
“WV History Alive: featuring
Mark Twain”
During the month of March, the Corner Bookstore will
feature children's and young adult books. Selections
include picture books for the very young, chapter books
for school-age children and young adult titles for teens.
Prices start as low as 25 cents. There are lots to choose
from for the young readers in your life, so come and
check them out.
We will also be featuring comic books and comic book
magazines while supplies last. Most are priced at $1
and would make a great find for comic book lovers.
As warm weather approaches, thoughts of gardening
take root. The Bookstore has a collection of gardening
and nature books for those with "green thumbs" to
peruse.
As usual throughout the month, Bookstore shelves will
be filled with great bargains in fiction, non-fiction, home
school items, paper backs, audiobooks, movies, puzzles,
and more. We'll also have sets of Time-Life Books,
including Old West, World War II, and Library of Art
series. Don't forget to stock up for Spring reading!
Monday, March 27 at 7:00pm
Presented by WV History Alive! The
author and humorist will be
portrayed by Doug Riley of
Tunnelton, West Virginia.
Historical characterization is the
vehicle for this program.
Humanities scholars have carefully
researched the writings, speeches
and biographies of the characters
they portray and whenever possible,
use their original words.
Brown Bag Book Club
Brown Bag Book Club meets on the
1st Wednesday of every month.
We will meet on March 1st to
discuss Cutting for Stone. Our next
book will be Reluctant Midwife by
Patricia Harman.
